Game of Thrones (Spoilers)

Best episode ever?

Maybe the worst. The witch was banished and Margaery was killed. The best set of bewbs and a set we were all hoping to see, gone.

Maybe the best as far as plot lines are concerned, but who really pays attention to those?

Between this week and the Battle of the Bastards, this was easily the best back to back episodes in the show's history. Just awesome.

Interesting that we now basically have Lannister (Mad Queen) vs. Targaryen (Dany) vs. Stark/Targaryen (Jon). And in between all of this next season will be the white walkers coming through the wall once Bran f*cks up the magic

Came up with my own theory this morning. Was talking with a friend about how Jamie will view Cersei after she went nuclear on the sept. I'm guessing he reluctantly becomes the head of the kings guard and eventually adds Queenslayer to his resume.

But yeah, those are probably the best 2 episodes in the series so far.

The fortune teller basically said her brother would kill her. So either Jaime or Tyrion. My bet is on Jaime.

The only thing I would add to that power struggle is Baelish. He's the fourth power here with the Vale behind him. He's just biding his time like he always does. But he clearly didn't like the return of the King of the North.

Agree completely!!! Carice Van Houten has some glorious sweater puppies. Hoping they figure out a way to end her banishment.

While I do enjoy seeing The Red Witch's ta tas, my favorite had to be Missandei's. Danny's handmaiden/advisor. Most attractive woman on the show besides Dany IMO. Neck and neck.

That show is so good, HBO has to keep it going or convert it into films. There's Billions to be made there.

Dany only jumped into the top three by default due to Margaery's death.
My GF dragged me kicking and screaming to that chick flick "Me before you". My only hope was that I would get to see Dany's perfect and perky yum yums But nooooooo ta tas. Horrible day.

There are only 13 episodes left. 7 next season and 6 to finish everything in 2018.

I just hope those episodes are at least 90 minutes each.

I could see them doing a prequel of the events that lead to Robert on the throne (the king in Season 1). There's a lot of detail in the books describing the rebellion although we just saw the Tower of Joy scene which would be a climax to those events. Regardless, there's a lot of content that could make for a new version of the show.

The problem is that by that time, they likely would never get the same show runners to do it and all of the existing cast would not be included. It's likely that the new guys could completely screw it up since the current showrunners have masterfully dealt with such an expansive story line. Plus Robert's Rebellion is not all that different from what's been going on in the show thus far- a bunch of people fighting for power with different factions. It'd be too similar.

I'm not sure people would be ready to re-invest into an entirely new cast, plot line, etc after GOT concludes.

Yep. The current pieces on the map is likely the last time it'll change. Cersei, Jon, Dany, Nights King, and Littlefinger mixed in there somewhere. The show will go forward with that construct and end in some way or another based upon this story arc.

The good news is that the apparent rationale behind 7/6 episodes is that the final 2 seasons will be so huge and epic that they don't have the time or resources to do 10 episodes.

Someone explain their theories on why the shit they keep showing Sam going to Old Town to become a maester when there's so few episodes left?? Only thing I can think of is he discovers some crazy info to kill the head white walker

Thats likely the case. Another would be to rediscover the magic the original men used when building the wall to keep the white walkers out.

To discover how to make Valyrian steel, the sword that John and very few others have. Sam knows it's the only way to kill the white walkers. There's a reason they showed him stealing his father's Valyrian steel sword, he needs it for his research.

I'm really interested to see what's going to happen to Jorah as well. You know Grey Scale won't stop him.

So you guys that were hoping to see Margaerys boobs... Do you not remember her letting them free early on when with stannis's brother (the gay one) cause I sure do.

The beauty of getting older. Every year is a fresh one.

The other thing about Sam is that in his final shot in the library, they pan to an "orb" hanging from the ceiling and being powered, which IS the orb that is always shown in the opening credits with the rings circling and the map of Westeros and Essos.

Since the Grand Maesters of Oldtown basically know everything there is (they were the ones who released the white doves to signal winter starting), and record everything, the theory is that everything we're seeing basically gets recorded in the library and powers the hanging orb, hence the changing sigals on each location when it changes hands. The Maesters witness what is going on in every corner of the world and it compiles a log with the orb.

This would mean that in theory, the entire show could end under the guise that it's always been Sam retelling the story.

I believe that it will end with Sam being the story teller of a song of fire and ice. A grand epic about how Dani/Jon team up to fight off the white walkers and save westeros.

It would make sense. The book series is called A Song of Ice and Fire and the individual books are just part of ASOIF. In the books, stories are typically told via song.

I also just read that the alternate reason for doing 2 short seasons vs. 1 extended final season is to allow GRRM a chance to get his damn next book out before the show ending.

And yet they didn't even know that Jon was the Lord Commander?

Well, Aemon was ill and like 100 years old when Jon was made Lord Commander, so I duno. He died shortly after. There's also the fact that Aemon was a Targaryan and seemingly knew something about Jon, at least in the way he interacted with him. Maybe he knew he was also a Targaryan and didn't want him going into the official "log" to free him up for endeavors elsewhere later.
