A Tuesday visit to campus translated to a scholarship offer for Carter Boatwright, a 6-foot-5, 225-pound tight end from Moultrie (Ga.) Colquitt County.

"I didn't know I was going to be offered, but I did feel good about the situation because Coach (Jon) Cooper wanted to see me in person and see me do a few things that I knew I was good at," Boatwright said.

Cooper, UCF's tight ends coach, has frequently been in touch throughout the process.

"I like Coach Cooper a lot," Boatwright said. "He's a real nice guy."

Boatwright and his family spent much of the day on campus. Moultrie, located in the southern part of Georgia, is about a four-hour drive to Orlando.

"The facilities were very nice," Boatwright said. "Some of the best I've seen yet, if not the best. With the new improvements that are coming they will have some of the nicest facilities in all of college football. All the coaches I met were outstanding. First and foremost they seemed like great family guys and were genuine and down to earth. I liked them all a lot. The thing that most stood out to me was what all the college had to offer. It was basically a mini city within the campus and they had everything you could possibly want as a student athlete. Overall it was extremely impressive."

Boatwright visited Florida State on Wednesday and will see Auburn on Thursday. South Carolina and UAB are lined up for next week.

His other offers so far include Samford, South Alabama, Troy, Coastal Carolina, Liberty, Akron, UAB, Marshall, Mercer, Central Michigan, Southern Miss, Tennessee State, Jacksonville State, Pittsburgh, FIU, Eastern Michigan, Chattanooga, UConn, Navy and Appalachian State.

"Not ready to name any favorites yet," Boatwright said. "Hope to get finished with next week and then start making some tough decisions. At this point I have 21 offers on the table, but know I can only go to one school. It's going to be a hard decision, but I'm leaning towards committing before the season starts."
