I mentioned this a few minutes ago in another post...but I'd like to get everyone's thoughts on this.
As Zack has mentioned, we absolutely don't want to "devalue" the UCF product by giving tickets away or making them super cheap. However, with all the Big XII talk, and the importance of getting butts in seats, is there a new strategy to get people to the game this season? The first game of the season starts at 6:00 pm on a Thursday night. We know many alumni will not be coming in from out of town...so what is the strategy for getting the stadium filled?
What is the right balance between not devaluing our product, but getting people to the game on a Thursday night in front of a national audience? Free or $5/$10 tickets for all local community colleges including Rollins, Seminole State, Valencia? What is more important, not devaluing tickets or getting butts in seats for a Thursday night game?
With all this Big XII talk, is UCFAA changing their strategy in how to engage the community this season? What should they do and what can WE do to help?
Brandon, I haven't had the opportunity to talk to Zack, have you discussed any of this with UCFAA? I know Zack is very much against "devaluing" tickets, and I agree with him, but this is a whole new ball game now.
