Currently the SEC, B1G, and ACC each have 14 teams. The Pac12 has 12.
If the Big 4 eventually do plan to expand to 16 teams each, they only need a total of 10 teams. Which is coincidentally how many teams are in the Big 12.
Now throw Notre Dame into the mix. If they were to take one of those spots, that means there are now only 9 spots available. So obviously at least one B12 team would get left out (sorry, Iowa State).
What would be the chances of UCF or any other non-P5 teams getting into one of the Big 4 over any of the B12 teams?
