Is Venezuela heading to their last days? Massive protests in the streets have left 3 dead with more protests planned as the socialist country is in economic turmoil.

GM has basically said this is the last straw and they will stop their operations after 70 years in Venezuela but will still pay pensions to those retired workers.

I don't get it. GM had contracts with private industry there, created jobs and they sell GM cars (at least they did) in Venezuela. Their government has just arbitrarily seized private property countering private aggreements. Bad for "globalists"...but HORRIBLE for a country with 25% unemployment and increasing dependency on centrism/co-dependency.

Venezuela has been pulling this stuff for a long time. They seized all of Exxon's assets there in 2007, for which Exxon sued (and won a judgement that would have paid about 1/10th of what they sought, but then lost the appeal in March).

Sounds like your trying to minimize government stealing private assets. This garbage will eventually happen here as the leeches of society take over the voting block. You already are getting close to 50% not paying federal taxes and they will vote on what the productive pay.

Not minimizing anything. Just pointing out that Rand predicted this 60+ years ago as socialism starts to fail. It's just extra accurate that they didn't even bother to look into whether the factory could even operate before taking it.
They couldn't get parts to assemble cars, so the factory was just producing spare parts the last couple years.
