GOL lies

I was hoping this wasn't true. Time for Hitt to do some explaining.

So it turns out that GOL was lying to us regarding Brent Key as HCIW.
And again you are wrong. Are you really this retarded? The clause was in Key's contract not GOL.

Here is what was stated by GOL:

Channel 6: Coach if you could make the call, would you make your contract public?

O'Leary: Make my contract public?

Channel 6: Your contract. Is there anything in there you wouldn't want us to see?

O'Leary: No. Not that I know of, but it's not my responsibility for a contract [being made public.] I sign one, but do you have a question specifically?

Channel 6: Yes sir, are there clauses in there that address the future of your coaching staff? Let's put the rumors to rest, is that true or false?

O'Leary: In my contract?

Channel 6: In your contract.

O'Leary: No there isn't. That's why it's my contract. [Laughs.] I worry about me. But no, there's nothing in there . ..what are you talking about a coach in-house or something like that?

Channel 6: Yes sir.

O'Leary: No, there's nothing in my contract stating that.

Channel 6: No, coaching in waiting?

O'Leary: No, not at all.

He was asked a specific question and gave a direct answer. And if you think you are allowed to talk about other peoples contract without them allowing you to, you are even more retarded than I could ever imagine.

I think there's a difference between being named HCIW and having a clause in your contract. I'm sure GOL thought Key would be the guy but it didn't work out obviously. Maybe the clause was more about Key wanting a parachute to stay -- there was a time when he was considered a top assistant in college football. At the time I was glad he stayed loyal.

1.)Show some class by not using the r-word. 2.) Did you read the quote about Key being a "very, very, very, strong candidate for head coach"? He's being deceptive.

Didn't he say that wasn't in HIS contract and that he didn't want to comment on someone else's (Keys) contract?

What is the problem here?

I wouldn't want anyone to comment on my contract

This is a non-issue. There's no lying, deception, or anything else.

We all knew there was a clause anyway somehow.

It's over.

In my house deceptive is lying.

True. You can say something false and not be lying. And you can say a true statement and be lying. Lying by it's strict definition is intentionally deceiving people. That's why being truly honest is so difficult. It's not what you say, but how the other person interprets what was said.

1. Show some common sense and I won't call you retarded. It's not like I called you a retard. That would be class-less. Don't get me started on the PC bullcrap.

2. He is not being deceptive when he can't LEGALLY tell you what is on someone else's contract that that person doesn't want disclosed. And obviously, Key was a prime candidate at the time as the staff felt he might be good for the position. The reason that clause was in his contract was to keep him from being grabbed by another program that was going after him.

Just because Key was a bad OC (and that is still in question) doesn't mean he would be a bad head coach. He is a good recruiter and was a good O-line coach. Imagine that, if Key was not promoted to OC, he would have been in the same boat Cristobal is in that many are hoping we get. Cristobal is a good recruiter and an O-line coach... yet has already proven a failure and have been fired from the HC job.

So much wrong with this post. Still in question about Key? Nah it's official. And Key is nowhere near the recruiter that Cristobal is.
