"He's fine." According to Shannon at the Sentinel. Cancer. GOL is a cancer to our university.

Man, I promised myself I was going to take it easy after going overboard last week, but that just sets me off. This is precisely why GOL just needs to go away; no more coaching and no AD. He will never do what needs to be done from any position.

I read the OS article from 7/4 about Brent. He is been with GOL his entire coaching career save 1 season. As long as GOL is associated with UCF in any way Brent Key will be OC/HC. It is time to take some chemo for this cancer.

I didn't like Key getting the promotion either. But we've got bigger problems executing at all.

And I also remember the rabid, multi-year hurls at Taffe too.

I don't see the quote you're referring to -- but honestly GOL can't (and shouldn't) throw his OC under the bus. That being said, saying "he's fine" doesn't sound like a strong endorsement either.

You'd think someone who is such a big fan of UCF could spell Taaffe correctly.

When 50,000 people think the play calling is horrible (and it is really bad), and GOL says he's "fine"....HOUSTON WE HAVE A PROBLEM.

I love how O'Leary is a cancer to the program. Where would this program be without him?

South Lake high school football rules!

I'm almost hoping for an 0-12 season just to see what happens to CMont by the end of it all.

Hey, so far only one person at work has talked about UCF losing to furman. That was easy. He is a buccs fan and I quickly reverted to them winning. Of course I haven't seen my obnoxious Gaytor coworker fan (we all have them) who I had the opportunity to shut up with just two words, "Georgia Southern". He is gonna get me when I see him. Go Furman! LOL. #losingsucks

The sports fan who's "heard of UCF" because of the Fiesta Bowl, has no idea we played Furman let alone lost to them, so probably won't heard much since they don't really hear about us until we beat some name team. But, unless I'm wrong, this is the 1st loss to a 1-AA team since rising to FBS, so yes someone should be fired.

I disagree. A lot of people are watching us. This does hurt our program. Even if I'm not screaming for GoL to get fired, I can recognize that. The only thing worse is advocating what some are saying here. It sends the wrong message to any prospective coaches, let alone we could get a lot worse than better.

They didn't like GoL, not even after 2013, and couldn't say much after 2014, despite the early issues. So now this is their "wet dream." And the reason they brought up the NCAA and Plancher is that 1 losing season out of 4, with all others being titles and even a big bowl win, is not enough to fire a coach about anywhere in the G5 (and even a lot in the P5) with GoL's record.

But, unless I'm wrong, this is the 1st loss to a 1-AA team since rising to FBS, so yes someone should be fired.
Yes, even if we agree ... when is the question? I'd say 4-5 games into next season, if the Freshmen "investments" don't turn out well, it would be time.

It would also mean GoL would be diving into the first back-to-back losing seasons for the first time in his tenure. When that happens, it will be time to change the guard.

But don't expect an "energetic" program change. It will stay how we've worked thus far. We will not build a Florida, FSU or Miami-type program here when it comes to off-the-field.

UCF is not Stanford. I don't get this 'we do things the right way' bs from some fans when we got hit w major NCAA violations that GOL only escaped bc he hates technology. GOL headlines for UCF are more negative than positive.

Ummm, dude, GoL wasn't even near that. The NCAA agreed, and overtuned a bowl ban. That's only happened 3 times in the history of the NCAA last time I checked.

Hitt was going to take it, despite him being very vocal about the uneven application of penalties. So when GoL brought up he wanted to challenge it, he didn't have to argue with Hitt.

Dude, stop this. Really, please do. Because you're going to join the "Garbage Men." Stop using everything you've remotely heard of to "pile it on" about firing GoL.

Our program is run very, very cleanly. It's laughable for anyone who actually listened to Hitt on the sanctions originally, before we even challenged the bowl ban. You could tell Hitt was basically saying, "We're going to comply, even if you're ignoring everyone else who needs to comply well before we should even be looked at in this matter."

Tribble was an idiot and clearly didn't know how to be an AD. Non-action is the same as condoning it. The problem is that this alleged runner was around a lot of other schools than UCF, including his Alma Mater.

Yes because being ranked 127th in total offense is fine. I know an idiot like UCFBS doesn't understand how FEI or SandP work. But these metrics are used to measure how effective an offense is. It typically does not take into account games against FCS teams as g5 and p5 usually stat pad against them. The only time it takes it into account is after a loss as that is viewed as a outlier and must be documented. Well our FEI which was 107 dropped to 120 after Furman. We are last in explosive plays and 125th in first down rate. But yes continue to blame inexperience and making yourself look even worse.

I think George saying "he's fine" instead of something like "he's doing a good job" is what rings loud to me. He's not going to publicly chastise his long-time friend and coach, so the fact that he gave more of a neutral answer than a positive one says a lot.

Well some people want facts and as I view FEI as the best and most accurate measure of a team, I use it.

Actually it is not. There have been many articles written about FEI as a metric. It does give insight into how a team is doing but at the same level as the eyeball test. There have been many variances noted to the FEI metric that have shown it is not as accurate as you make it out to be.

Again, I don't think anyone is denying we are offensively challenged so no need to throw out your superior knowledge gained by FEI...LOL!

Um football outsiders F+ index is widely considered to be the most accurate representation of statically analysis of a college football team and bill c is widely considered to be one of the most accurate and highly regarded cfb analysts. FEI and SandP are considered the gold standard of cfb metrics.

Or you are just an idiot
That's why I call you guys the "Garbage Men." When you disagree, you pile it on ... nothing is taboo, nothing is left uncovered. Not the argument or the debate, much less when someone posts a good refute, but just pure attack ... as much as possible.

The insults, to any level, are justified ... right? Even when I roll-with-it, you don't let up. Just like with Plancher.

And there you are bringing up Plancher again. I'll ask you one more time since you haven't been able to, tell me where I ever mentioned Plancher when debating George or his staff. Go ahead go tell me where I ever mentioned Plancher.

And the on,y person I insult is you because I tried to be reasonable with you, but you were too dense to understand what I was talking about. That's why I must treat you like a remedial child.

I knew what you were talking about. Yet you posted in a thread where the original subject was something completely different. So I asked/corrected, "you mean ..." and moved on.

The problem is that you think I started the ISIS stuff. For some reason you became fixated on me, instead of the actual logic and responses. Just like C-Mont has moved on to picking apart any typo of mine as I'm posting from my phone.

And that's the thing ... you just want to argue. If any logic is played, especially well played, you just find something else to find. All while I refuse to stoop to that level.

But you guys go ahead, hope to get your way, change coaches after a few losses, maybe even justify it when the season ends in a loss. I'll just feel sorry for you when you realize you just traded out the #2 G5 team for something far worse.

But I will get upset if the grades and program suffers as well.
