UCF lost interim athletics director George O'Leary on Monday but kept football coach George O'Leary.
In other words, the Knights addressed a mistake but did not cure what ails them.
The mistake was naming O'Leary interim athletics director in June. That's a full-time job, not a moonlighting gig for a head football coach.
So O'Leary resigned as interim AD, saying it was solely his decision. UCF's problem is that his double duties weren't the problem.
