44-61 without Ralph Friedgen or Charlie Taffe.
UCF winning percentage 55.1% (Kruc 54.5%)
10 more years.Come on! That's not fair. We won the Fiesta Bowl. That, as well as the conf championships should give GOL the RIGHT to another year to turn things around.
He righted the ship at 58. He's 70 now.UCF after "sh_tting the bed", in 2005, 2007, 2009, 2012:
2005 - Played for conference title
2007 - Won conference title
2009 - 8-5 (6-2) in conference play
2012 - played for conference title
This is why he gets another year. He's demonstrated he can right the ship. I get that people wish we would win 10 games every year but the likelihood of doing that is slim-to-none for any program, period. Boise State is the only G5 program that seems to be able to hover around that mark year-in and year-out. NO other G5 school, and only a handful of top-notch P5 programs can claim that. If you had to rank G5 programs over the last 10 years, I'd say we would be #4, with Boise, TCU and Utah being better. TCU and Utah got called up to the big-boy table, so that puts us at #2.
Everybody on here whining constantly isn't going to change the fact that we suck this year, and we just have to live through out. Personally, I don't whine and cry over it, nor lose any sleep. It's just a sport for crying out loud. It's never going to impact my real life. It's just a part of it so spend the year or so expending energy and time repeating the same stuff we all already know and I'll keep showing up and having a good time tailgating and enjoying the day for what it is. For this year, less enjoyment watching us play but I can live with that as long as we return to competing for the conference title next year.
It's a G5 school. Recruiting is inconsistent because each year needs top talent to stay consistent. That's just not possible in the non bcs/G5 world. Teams like Boise state are the exception, not the rule. It is a major outlier in the G5 world and probably broke a lot of rules to get there. Why does he have to keep righting the ship? Bad crew or a bad captain? Why can't the ship stay on a an even keel?
You replace lost players every year and develop them as freshmen and sophomores to play as juniors and seniors. So how many juniors and seniors are on this years team who can't produce and have to be replaced by freshmen? Where did the current load of juniors and seniors who are not playing come from? Another administration? Nope, they are gol recruits developed by gol or his hired and trained assistant coaches.
All programs go through the same situation as UCF and most stay consistent. I am realistic in thinking we will not contend for a national championship but I do expect to to have years of winning seasons. My high school did with players who unlike college just happen to be in school zone and we seem to be a solid program with different coaches for decades.
You are an apologist. You will never amount to anything in life with that attitude. It's a G5 school. Recruiting is inconsistent because each year needs top talent to stay consistent. I'm not saying GOL should get another year, I'm just asking for the responses to this year be realistic about UCF's position in the college football world.

Exactly. Inconsistent leadership is failed leadership. Why does he have to keep righting the ship? Bad crew or a bad captain? Why can't the ship stay on a an even keel?

I'll also add that as a G5 you are constantly losing position coaches and coordinators that are good because you can't pay them what P5s can. That's why having Key as OC is genius, no one else will want him, hence consistency. It's a G5 school. Recruiting is inconsistent because each year needs top talent to stay consistent. Uab was also trying to dissolve their football program, Key was a perfect fit.Uab wanted him
If you don't have them, why are you still here? You mean having good experienced coaches help you makes it easier to win?

I'm beginning to doubt the firmness of your bizzle. Maybe some GOLevitra could help.If you don't have them, why are you still here?
