Hey guys, I started the tread about a week ago in regards to me and the wife coming to the game for GT during our anniversary. We are also going to find a golf course to play and I was wondering everyone’s suggestions? I’m more into a course with good scenery, nothing to to “resort”.

You should probably provide information about how much you are willing to spend. There are a lot of golf courses in Orlando

Go to NC for your anniversary instead. You can go to the beaches or mountains (much cooler). You can watch the game on TV with a six pack in your hotel room. Tech sucks, so you won't be missing anything. Orlando is way overrated, anyway. I know, I lived there for 22 years.

Look at Orange County National. They have 2 18 hole courses that used to be out in the middle of nowhere but it has been built up like crazy now located behind Disney off the 429. No houses on the course still though, still nice scenery, wildlife and fairly open. It’s my favorite Orlando course and I’ve played them all. It’s ALWAYS kept up.

If you REALLY want a treat and don’t mind a drive, StreamSong is about an hour and a half away in the middle of nowhere, deep central FL. It can be on the pricey side ($125+ and then a caddy) but it’s 3 courses are all ranked in the top 100 in the world. It’s AWESOME out there, I go once a year with a buddy and stay at the lodge. The steakhouse is excellent.

Tranguillo at the Four Seasons on Disney property is also a great track, but it’s expensive. You can see a few mansions from the course but no houses on the course itself. It’s basically in the deep woods. I have always seen tons of wildlife every time I’ve played there. Tons of turkey and deer families.

Best bang for your buck is Orange County National though. Can’t go wrong, always in good shape and nice facilities too. They play the Q School out there, it’s very nice and both challenging but also fairly open and forgiving.

Lol, I’ll keep for a receipt in case GT somehow upsets y’all.

My buddy and I have an annual bet and the loser pays for the weekend stay and play. He’s a gator fan (sidewalk alumn like most) and he usually bets something dumb. I only lost our inaugural bet between UCF vs usf 2016 game straight up, was really confident we would beat them that year. Won every bet after starting with the 2017 UCF vs usf, last year was UF vs Alabama straight up and this year is UF to lose more than 3 games (he picked 3 or less). I like betting against his emotions, easy money.

But back to StreamSong…it’s awesome man, my favorite courses ever played in FL and it’s not even close. The lodge, spa, bars and facilities are 1st class. But when I say in middle of nowhere, it is, you are kind of stuck. If you and the boys really want to get out though, the Hard Rock Casino in Tampa is maybe 45 min away.

This is definitely going on my list. The other three I have listed now is Purcell farms along with some RTJ courses in Alabama. Pine hurst, and the Tiger Woods course in Branson Missouri.

Which of the two courses would you suggest if I’m just playing one round?

Is there a big difference?
Crooked Cat is easier than Panther, at least in my opinion. But Panther is probably a better track, aesthetically. Both are fun courses, can’t go wrong. Play early though, it rains every afternoon this time of year and this summer rainy season has been the worst I can remember.
