This is truly life imitating art where, because of the actions of an overzealous prosecutor with gross conflicts of interest and a political motivation, Baltimore has implemented it's own version of "Amsterdam" from the series "The Wire."

Can you really blame any officer for being reticent to perform their arrest duties given the charges and the misrepresentation of basic facts of the arrests and the law surrounding it by the prosecutor?

I've lost all faith in the media.

I mean, whether you feel Zimmerman was guilty or not, the fact that the media continually stated the Sanford PD didn't even investigate or hold Zimmerman, while the Sanford PD not only grilled him 5 hours, but the Detective grilling him wanted to charge him with manslaughter that night, but it was up to the DA's office (Seminole, then deferred to state -- the lawyers!), I honestly believe the media -- driven by the politicians -- have no interest whatsoever in covering the facts when it comes to the police.

I.e., the more the media -- via the politicians -- can blame the police for everything, the more they can cover-up the mistakes made by the lawyers and politicians.

That's not to say every $30-40K/year, lowly paid, law enforcement civil servant is perfect, doesn't make mistakes or otherwise doesn't abuse his or her power, far from it. But they are certainly the expendables when it comes to the politicians, via the media, who have their own agendas, as well as their own mistakes to cover.
