an Australian research team is using sound to treat alzheimers...they are on rats but they say 75% of the treated rats get their memories back. I dont know how you judge a rat's memory, but cool news all the same. The above link was not what i found at reddit but its on the same thing...My uncles wife was diagnosed in her early 50s so fingers crossed

i just wonder what a person who has had alzheimers for years and then has a treatment thinks...did they lose all that time with alzheimers? is it like waking up from being asleep?

I hate to be a downer but this treatment would not heal someone that has had Alzheimers. It may give them the ability to retain some new information. Once the brain is damaged there is no fixing it... just new ways to prevent the brain from getting more damaged and finding new neuropathways to comepnsate for the old damaged ones. Also, about 60% of dementias are caused by the plaque and tangles that are consistent with Alzheimers, so this treatment wouldn't be effective in the other 40%. Regardless, its a step in the right direction!

I'm excited that the SunRail is free tomorrow... our kid has been carrying an old ticket around for days because he is so excited to go on it. He thinks that if he loses the ticket they won't let him on.

I'm sure there are a few more articles out today touting the benefits of psychedelic drug treatment and the psychedelic renaissance occurring today. Mankind is slowly starting to awaken so I consider that incredibly great news.

Had to go to the courthouse this morning to file an order to amend my divorce agreement. Paralegal fiancee had all my docs ready to go, got there before all the deadbeat dads showed up and I was out the door in 15 minutes. Best of all, case was still open and didn't have to pay a fee. I think I'll buy a lotto ticket tonight.

The first one was like that, beer and diapers party. It wasnt all that bad, and I got a ton of free sh:t.

This party is for our second kid, and I didnt even really want a party. We pretty much have everything anyways. The inlaws were the ones pushing to have the party, not us. This is for just close family so none of my friends have to suffer.
