GOP isn't even trying anymore

Tucker Carlson said we shouldn’t jump to any conclusions about the Ukrainian conflict.

Roy told Insider via email that he would have supported the bill if targeting Russia and Belarus were the sole focus, but he took issue with the legislation because it would "permanently empower the President with the unilateral authority to issue sanctions against anyone who he deems responsible for an undefined 'serious human rights abuse.'"

Seems reasonable. We don't want Biden to be a dictator.

Yep, if we "jumped to conclusions" we'd think that the Russian military invaded Ukraine and has been bombing the shit out of civilian targets for the past three weeks.

Putin is now openly praising Fox News, by name, during his insane 3rd Reich style stadium forced propaganda.

Wow.

You'd THINK that a some point Fox News viewers would stop and ponder, "why is the guy hellbent on bombing the shit out of Ukraine featuring Tucker Carlson and other Fox News pundits on his State-run TV programming?"

Maybe because he's right? Did you ever consider the idea that you have been deceived and are buying into lies?

I think the bill went too far, but Crazy exactly what lies are being bought into? Ukraine is a non-Nuclear power that didn't invade Russia, and to the best of my knowledge didn't issue threats against Russia, who now has been invaded by Russia. Putin and Russia is the aggressor here, and they are the one targeting civilian sites.

I dont deny the fact that Russia is the aggressor. It's the details of what is happening that I question, and IMO for good reason. Kinda like the whole "Iraq has weapons of mass destruction" BS that cost us trillions because people just towed the line. Sorry, but fool me once shame on you; fool me twice shame on me.

Hahaha imagine being so goddamn stupid that goodknight calls you a moron. Wow, that's a new low for this board.

"You know I'm totally cheering for the American revolutionaries, but it's the details of what is happening that I question...."

Authoritarian state with no freedom of press, no free speech, and no freedom of assembly is the invading aggressor on a neighboring democracy - but you're worried about "the details."

Iraq is when you worry about the details. PUTIN is the one that should have been worried about the details. He's the one with a burden of proof to justify his actions. Ukrainians could (rightfully) give two shits about details right now. No one cares about details while hiding in a shelter from artillery fires.

Ukraine is fighting an information war. If you're on the side of Ukraine in the physical war, but not in the information space - then you aren't really on their side. International support and the morale of the Ukrainian people is how they win this fight.

Authoritarian state with no freedom of press, free speech, and no freedom of assembly? First off, that isn't totally accurate, and secondly it's a closer description to eastern Ukraine (now all of Ukraine) than Russia.

But again, I really don't care which side wins as long as it doesn't spill over to the US. Unfortunately we allied with Ukraine and that has impacted us negatively in ways that we haven't even felt yet.

100%

I can not even fathom the amount of stupidity and/or literal cult member brainwashing required to believe Putin over domestic sources.

Eastern Ukraine has literally been at war for 8 years thanks to Russia.

And I mean it's pretty damn accurate. In the last month - thanks to the new laws passed - Russia has shut down the only two remaining independent news outfits - TV Rain and Echo Moscow. Speaking out against the war is now punishable by up to 15 years in prison (though all I've seen so far is fines). And if you even look like maybe you're going to protest, you get arrested. Including super old ladies that can barely walk, kids, and people holding up blank signs.

You should care who wins. It's quite literally a tyrant imposing tyranny on a free and independent people. This is literally as easy as it gets.

Putin is a tyrant? Sounds like the 1980s called and....well you know the thing.

hahaha y'all hated tariffs when Trump put them on China, now you're writing some James Bond fanfic when people on the other side hate them too?

the funniest part is that Trump used tariffs in an effort to create jobs and not be so reliant on Chinese goods, whereas Biden wants to put tariffs on Russia cuz Putin totally cucked Biden and his empty threats.

for a group of people that decry any sense of US nationalism as an insinuation of white supremacy, you sure love vicariously living out Ukranian (a country that is 99% white) nationalism.

So Justin Trudeau is a tyrant because after 3 weeks, he wouldnt let trucks illegally block streets. But a guy who has killed journalists, poisoned an opposition leader, and threatens protestors with years in prison isnt a tyrant, and if someone says so its just cold war propoganda?

Maybe we just need another reset button.

It's cute you are trying to change the mind of literal cult members with facts, but the reason these people are cult members to begin with is they do not base their worldview on facts, so it's a lost cause.

So why are you here then? Crazy and I have had plenty of reasonable conversations in the past.

Remember - the entire purpose of Putin's information war has been to divide the US internally. It doesn't matter if you're on the "right" side of an issue if you're an active participant in fostering the division.

Bro you can't have reasonable conversations with crazy, and when I say crazy I mean both the actual person and the figurative term for cult members.

I'm here to eat popcorn and laugh at idiots who have joined the cult.

I was naive like you my first 5 years on here, pre trump. I wrongly thought people would be willing to change their minds when presented with contradicting facts, but I did learn on here that is obviously not true.

We dont need a reset button, we just need people to be more rational. What is going on in Ukraine is certainly complex, but Putin is not a good leader, and we dont need to pretend he is. The guy is literally invading another country and has threatened the West, but you think it is just 1980s cold war propaganda when we criticize him? He is invading Ukraine in 2022, this has nothing to do with 80s cold war BS.

Lol, have you not figured out that I'm mocking Obama and the idiots that bought into his stupid line about the 1980s wanting their foreign policy back in the 2012 debate? Russia and Putin are a serious threat to us, probably moreso now than during the cold war but you guys don't recognize how vulnerable we are.

Why would anyone know that? The 2012 debate was a decade ago, its not like things cant change in 10 years, so kind of a weird thing to mock, but also not something you should just expect everyone understand what you are doing.

OK, so you missed the reference. No big deal. Do you agree that Russia is a serious threat to the US?

Humans are gonna human. You do your thing and I'll do mine.
I do agree there. Never argued otherwise, just pointed out the uselessness of arguing with a figurative toaster. Cubs is the same way, but I feel like he's close to realizing how much of a lost cause it is.

I dont think I missed the reference as much as you think everyone should understand what you are talking about without giving any context to it what so ever. They are a threat in some ways, just like any nuclear power can be a threat.

You're making the mistake of underestimating your opponent.

I wouldn't say 'any.'
I would say we're 'jumping to too many.'

Remember ... Tucker is actually anti-PC, purposely.
A lot of the time he catches the US Mass and Social Media in total hypocrisy that way.

A lot of European socialists will agree with him at times too.

Holy fūcking shit. Trump just asked Putin for help to win a goddamn election.

Remember when I called you MAGAts traitors? Yeah that was an understatement.
