The systemic racism of Napa wine trains continues.

Tons of gems in the article of this modern day Rosa Parks:

#laughingwhileblack “They gave us a full refund … but that's not enough. We are totally humiliated,” wrote Johnson, who describes herself on her website as a “speaker, coach and self-made Sunshineologist” as well as a fiction writer and chief executive of an independent publishing company called Brown Girl Press."

It doesn't matter what race or sex, if you get 11 people together and start boozing them up, they will become obnoxious and loud. I've been on that train before and it's not a place you go to get sloshed with a bunch of friends. People dish out a ton of money for a unique dining experience. I'd be pissed too if a bunch of women were drowning out every other sound since they thought this would be a good venue to have a "book club outing"....??

Instead of just admitting that they're loud, obnoxious assholes, they played the race card.

Coach of what?

While I don't know what happened exactly , it's clear the train company management truly believed the women were too loud , then folded like a tent when accused of racism . My guess is they were obnoxiously loud around some uppity people and the complaint would have Happened black or white but I'm white so that means I am a biased no good pos former Slave owner and trader racist so ignore my thoughts

It's a good thing we have these modern day MLKs to fight for the rights of loud drunk people everywhere. They're so courageous and true heroes.

BT I would imagine you are 100% correct. We have all been in restaurants where there were obnoxious loud people and its disruptive to a dinner. How many times have you been out eating and there was a crying baby or screaming kid? What is the difference between a loud kid and 11 loud women.

Its the boy who cried wolf, all the people on there that complain that the world does not recognize racism when it actually happens, this is why.

I saw this the other day and thought about posting it here. Didnt feel like there was anything to really talk about. Bunch of girls got drunk and obnoxious on a train. They were asked to quiet down a number of times and refused. They were kicked off and fully refunded. Then they decided to play the race card verifying that they are really just a bunch of racist assholes.

“We Were 100% in the Wrong,” Napa Wine Train Executive Says
Napa Valley Wine Train CEO Apologies to African American Book Club Members Removed from Train for Noise Complaints

It appears the company lost its spine in defending itself against the loud blacks...but the neo-social conservatives on this board will just whine and call it more pussification of America. The ancestors that were against this nonsense called civil rights must be turning in their graves right now.

Exactly. Everyone in this thread showed they are part of the problem with systemic racism. The train was wrong and admitted it. But you guys still want to blame the customers and call them race baiters. Terrible. Just terrible.

"In the haste to respond to criticism and news inquires, we made a bad situation worse by rushing to answer questions on social media. We quickly removed the inaccurate post, but the harm was done by our erroneous post," he said in a letter to the women."

"Clearly, we knew in advance when we booked your party that you would be loud, fun-loving and boisterous," he said. "You told us during the booking process that you wanted a place where your club could enjoy each other's company. Somehow that vital information never made it to the appropriate channels and we failed to seat your group where you could enjoy yourself properly and alert our train's staff that they should expect a particularly vibrant group."

Like I said. They were loud and obnoxious and escorted off for that reason and probably for cursing out those who told them to stfu. As soon as they cried racism the company throws its employees under the bus and apologizes

The problem is ...

Just one (1) person who complained (and there was more than one) used a slight, seemingly racially toned word -- a single word as I understand it -- to describe the group. Nothing overt or even directly offensive, but because it was a word that was unrelated to their behavior, and they acted upon it, I'm sure some lawyers had some say in the matter.

I.e., if they didn't apologize, there was probably a basis for discrimination ... even if the company proved they were loud enough. Because just one person used a single word as part of a phrase, it could be made to look like they were complicit in discrimination. Because a group is protected, that opens up the company to liability if that was the case as part of just one complaint.

Just how it is now in the courts these days.

They turned this into a race thing when it's really about sex. When have a group of women drinking together not turned into a loud cackling hen house?
