Most interesting responses to probing questions many which he refuse to concede were true:
Actually mentioned UCF two or three times
Good old fashioned hard-hitting game
Didn't dominate, but a good workmanlike effort
Refused to concede that run game wasn't working well
Said most of yards were on a few long runs. Except for that...
Refused to concede kick blocks were anything other than their normal rush
UCF was doing a lot of run blitzes which opened up the play-action passes
Wouldn't concede his QB was getting hit for the first time
Never mentioned at all their greatest success: shutting down our passing game?? Strange!
No question or mention about keeping starters in over 90% of game (or, of course, the officiating)

They needed to keep the starters in. It's a nonissue, hence no questions

Pass defense was an amazing defensive strategy. He rather not talk about that.

Officiating?? Frost wouldn't comment either.

Game replay is on YouTube.

As far as Harbaugh's press conference.

"They were running plays in 15-17 seconds." "3 and outs getting the defense quickly off the field."

We knew about the possibility of a lot of 3 and outs, but I never thought that the defense looked THAT tired because of it.

However, "15-17 seconds"

What's the norm and how long should it be??

I'm guessing about 8-12 seconds to run a play.

One key to running an up-tempo offense these days is not substituting on offense. The officials are instructed to give the defense a chance to match the substitutions. That kills about 10 seconds right there and can blunt momentum. I do not know the personnel on UCF enough to know if that can be done with changing down-and-distance situations.

Our problem right now is the QB. Neither of the ones that played on saturday have more than an offseason exposure to the offense.

Also incomplete passes kill momentum too. On a complete pass, the ball is lateralled to the middle of the field, the oline is trailing the play, the ball is set for snap, and the play goes off quickly. On an incomplete pass a new ball is sent in from the sidelines, everyone needs to come back to the original LOS, etc. I think we completed like 4 or 5 passes.

Harbaugh prefers to keep his starters in most of the game, saying that they've earned the right to play so why pull them. He's not too big on trying to prevent injury. It hasn't bitten us yet, but.....

It's also why he doesn't field questions about it much anymore, it doesn't really have too much to do with the score.
