It's always been considered good message board etiquette for a poster who wants to express his opinion in a brand-new thread to post a link to the news story that inspired his take. If you want other posters to comment, it's helpful for them to see the same news story you did. In the past, the link has usually been to a mainline news source (FOX, NBC, ABC, Wash Post, AP, etc.). But over time, the 'news source' behind the take often became a political spin article from 'The Blaze' or other right-wing or left-wing blogs. Not quite the same thing but, hey, for a board like this one, anything goes, right? :)

But fast-forward to NOW and this place has become LITTERED with wacko Twitter posts for God's sakes!!! Hell, in many cases the WC poster who links them doesn't even bother to make his own comment for crying out loud! Apparently we're just supposed to be blown away by reading some Twitter nobody's personal take as if it came from the President, a Governor, or a member of Congress.

Which leads to the million dollar question: Why in the @#$&@ do we need to read some obscure person's rant -- or 'scientific' research -- who isn't part of this board??? I assume most of us have Twitter accounts. If we want to read this type of sh!t, we can easily find it. We certainly don't need crazy-ass Twitter takes to be regurgitated here!

Seriously, we've got more than enough authentic WC nutjobs posting here without adding to the mix by posting somebody else's crazy Twitter comments.

End of Rant.

Those twitter links almost always are linked to a news outlet. You're making an issue out of nothing.

Totally agree.

Nobody wants to actually think anymore and communicate. It’s lazy and doesn’t take any brainpower. They click on a link and post it as a gotcha moment. Very little thought or analysis required. Most of these Twitter posts are outlier articles from nutjobs. Posting a bunch of them doesn’t win an argument or prove a point. I rarely click on them as many don’t direct you to anything factual

Case in point. I saw the ivermectin tweet about male infertility and troll posted it. I’ve never ever heard that about ivermectin.

You haven't heard that about ivermectin because it's fake news and the news story was rescinded when they got caught. Doesn't that make you question the motivation of people that spread it?
