The only one that comes to mind is Marshall after their tragic plane crash, where the NCAA granted them a waiver to play the following season with freshman players. There's also SMU after their death penalty punishment back in the 80s. Other than that, it's hard to think of a case where a program has fallen so far, so completely, and so fast as what UCF has done. Heck, even Marshall with their freshman team still managed to win their first home game against a supposedly superior opponent (yes, I recently watched "We are Marshall").
I am just stunned at how quickly UCF seems to have completely fallen apart. It's almost as if we haven't even been recruiting the past few years. I know we lost a lot of players to graduation, some to injury, and one who left early to jump to the NFL. But how do we get to a point where the players that we have left are so completely and utterly unprepared?
Is this worse than what we faced during Kruczek's last season, where the team basically quit on him?
