If you guys have never read about the krakatoa and tambora eruptions, take a little time to. The krakatoa explosion in particular is crazy, popping eardrums in people several miles away, changing the earths climate for months, etc. It's pretty amazing how powerful some volcanoes are.

My wife wanted to visit the Big Island on Christmas 2005**, and I said 'no,' so we went to Maui instead (quick day trip via short flight'n back). There is a reason for that, and this is it.
**The team and official travel agency did Sun-Sat, flying back on a red eye Christmas Eve (Sat) - Christmas (Sun), literally had to hurry to the airport because of the overtime in the Hawaii Bowl. We did Wed-Tue, enjoying Christmas on Maui. Same hotel with the team, half the price of the travel agency (flight and hotel).
