Knight fans need to stay positive, and realistic

Plumlee will have one more year of experience under his belt. Also, Hinshaw will have experience being a play caller and the same for Addison Williams as a DC.

Good news for UCF…Malzahn should be able to get 2-3 wins in 2024…EASY.

wonder if TMO’s expect mediocrity push on the fanbase will eventually hurt ticket sales

newness of the Big12 will wear off
This is my concern as well. The momentum of the 2013, 2017, and 2018 seasons definitely brought on many new fans and kept the casual fans interested. I feel as though since we still don’t have the amount diehards that UF and FSU have, we can’t have multiple bad / mediocre seasons and expect the interest in our program to continue.

Beyond thankful that we slid into the Big 12 in time, but the past few seasons have been a poor reflection of where it looked like this program was heading.

Timmy is the same QB as he was with USF. He didn't progress... JRP did not progress. I imagine we will be kicking the tires on the other QB's we have on staff, soon. But I feel like I'm rational.

I think Timmy has more upside - JRP is hurt and no player should play hurt. Especially if it affects their mobility.

Timmy's biggest need for improvement is to work through his progressions and get rid of the ball. In both the KState and Baylor games, he was trying to force something. Only one of the plays he tried to force something did it work out for him. I don't blame Timmy because I think he just needs more coaching time.

Based on the Kansas game, it appeared that JRP was getting more snaps in practice because they made him the starter and it looked like Timmy regressed a bit - it could be that he shared practice time. At this point, I think Timmy should take over the remaining season and we should see where he goes with the team. If we don't see progress by the end of the season, then we can make the decision where the team goes with QB. Whether we get one from the portal or we go with a HS player or we continue to play Timmy. If Timmy shows improvement, then we keep him.

Agree !00%

Going from G5 to a P5 conference is going to have a transition period. Fans have a win now mentality and are not realistic. Most of the players on this team were recruited when we were in a G5 conference. Yes we got some SEC transfers but not enough especially the depth on the DL and Linebacker

This is just part of the cartel media narrative that the P5 is so much better than the G5. We have railed against this idea for years in here. That one guy posted in the other thread the Fox twitter graphic that showed "the P5 teams without a P5 win." They don't make that graphic if we aren't on it*. "UCF is getting a lesson in big-boy football" is what they want everyone to hear.

It's not a P5/G5 problem that we blew a massive lead at home. The season would be looking entirely different right now if one of a handful of things had gone differently in the second half of that game. We probably still lose at KU but we probably aren't reading comments in here about whether the team has quit.

* They probably also don't make that graphic if our game with OU isn't on ESPN instead of Fox this week.

perfect storm to discredit UCF 2017 which isn't fair to those players

it wouldn't surprise me if Terry takes down the 2017 lettering on the press box

we got a fanbase that went from arguing why the American was underrated to now saying we are 4 years away from not looking like an FCS team in conference play in a year where the Big12 is down after the top 2

At the end of the season it can be argued that the team isn't built with enough depth to handle a full P5 schedule. However, waving the white flag after a few games against the bottom tier teams is foolish.

Malzahn's teams would also have 3-4 losses in 2017-2018.
