Thought we could talk about what is a common activity.

Talk about physical activities/diets you do that work in terms of helping you be a more fulfilled, productive person.

I go to the gym 4-5x a week. Have 3 memberships on account of traveling as well as Golds Gym not reopening the saunas, but 10 Gym not having equipment quite as nice (70-85’s have mismatched handles which is disorienting for any pressing).

For diet, I’ve done Intermittent Fasting for the better part of 7 years. Eating in the morning makes me sluggish compared to running on black coffee and water. Started at a 8 hour window, slowly graduated to either 2 hours or OMAD (one meal a day)

For the whole month of November I’ve been trying out the carnivore diet, limiting my consumption to coffee, water, beef, chicken, eggs, cheese, salt and pepper. I’ll pound some SmartWater or 0 sugar Powerade for electrolytes and supplement with beef liver pills. I don’t have any studies to back up my claims, only anecdotal from others and myself. The mental clarity you achieve after pushing thru the first 4 days (you get what’s called “keto flu”) is absolutely out of this world. Knee and shoulder issues from my playing days are significantly muted. Vision and hearing got way better too, which was an interesting surprise. Worth trying out but probably not for long-term

Always wanted to try keto. I lost 105 pounds on Atkins diet. I cut sugar completely. limit days at Gym 3 a week you will see more progress. The body needs to rest.

Interested in carnivore myself. How long are you going to try and stay on it? What are the side effects coming off?

started it November 1st so i could measure a month.

from what i hear, you go back to getting tried after eating once you come off. it's been nice that after eating, i just feel refreshed

I’ve been at lifting for awhile (about 20 years) but since kids it’s on and off. Usually I’ll get a good workout partner and schedule for a few years then something will change it’s off for months to a year before it all clicks again.

I try to lift 3 times a week and run 4-5 times 2-3 miles each time. I go thru phases but my most fun times at the gyms were pushing for max lift targets with 2 guys that were trying for it too. Those days are shot and I’m doing typical stuff in my garage on a cable machine. Lots of pull-ups. It keeps you in shape physically but you start to feel a little weak.

I like to run outside on hilly roads. The press up a hill and rest downhill is better mentally than the grind of 3 miles of endless flat terrain. Most people hate running and I did at first but it’s a great way to burn physical and mental energy.

I would go more often, but I do home workouts due to COVID-19.

I admit, a simulator is not so necessary if you want to stay in shape. This is good, but you need to be supervised by a specialist. When exercising at home, you can get hurt by doing the workouts incorrectly. I can cite the case of a friend who, due to back problems, bought herself an exercise bike. As it turned out, she had intervertebral hernias, as a result of which she has a second disability group and titanium inserts between the vertebrae. Therefore, I advise you to consult your doctor. Now I also want to gain muscle mass, I hired an online trainer and am trying. He created my workout routine, and I was taking good natural vitamins and supplements that didn't stop me.
