Just curious about your opinion on this, since you are in the medical field: what do you think about cardiac CT procedures? The reason that I ask is because my mom had one done because supposedly it's cheaper and more accurate than having a stress test. The guy that ordered it is a PA. A month later my brother went in for the same issue and the doctor said he couldn't call for one and that it would take a cardiologist to order it, but he could call for an ekg and a stress test. Got any idea?

Obviously not. The insurance companies are always the ones making the final call on these decisions.

She has Medicare, he is on private insurance. She actually asked the PA about this and he had no idea why the other doctor said that and he said he would have done the same for my brother.

Regardless, more than anything I found it interesting that they could just use a CT to check your heart. I guess they just look at calcium levels. Pretty cool stuff.
