Well deserved...now go out and kick some butt!
They have to bring in temporary bleachers. I’m guessing they’ll have to add food trucks and portopotties as wellIs softball facilities much better than Baseball? I thought I recall that being one of the things holding baseball back.
UCF's baseball stadium is capable of hosting a regional. Not that it does a lot of good when the team itself hardly ever even qualifies for the tournament. Is softball facilities much better than Baseball? I thought I recall that being one of the things holding baseball back.
Are we required to sell Michigan one hundred tickets or something? I could see them bringing fansOur softball stadium is kind of tiny, only seating 600 people. Hopefully they can set up some temporary additional bleachers down the 1st base line. They are also planning to sell standing room tickets beyond the left field fence.
We sold out many games this year, so I think we could easily get 1,000 - 1,200 UCF fans for the UCF games in the regional.
Michigan already beat us (shut us out) earlier this year and we also lost to 2 other B10 teams including 8 run ruled by Wisci....we're obviously a better team now so we have some pay back to administer to the B10Michigan has won it all and placed second since 2005. They could win this regional.
Sounds like Michigan has been close to hosting the past few years and is losing patience with the seedings. They'll be a tough out and we'll have to play our best. BTW, although we did lose to Michigan early in the season, we beat Nebraska more recently and they beat Michigan in the B10 championship game. This should be a great matchup.'We have a job in front of us': UM softball to open NCAA tourney against South Dakota State
The Michigan softball team was the last name announced Sunday in the NCAA Tournament and will travel to Orlando to face South Dakota State on Friday.www.detroitnews.com
Glad me and my buddy secured our tickets early, but I imagine there will be a large contingent watching from the outfield fences for free.
Good question, but I’m thinking this is a way better alternative than paying to send our team on the road. For decades, our Admin & Athletics Dept have been very vocal about our desire to host regionals in both baseball and softball. I would like to think there’s a real financial benefit as well as a competitive one.Since this is our first time hosting a baseball or softball regional it got me thinking. Will this event be a 💰maker for us? $25 general admission and $15 standing room for the weekend but I have no idea what it cost to bring in extra bleachers and other cost.
I can imaging the biggest source of revenue will be a $4 bottle of Dasani water.
Don’t get me wrong I’m super pumped about hosting but I’m just curious if this helps move the needle for the Mission XII revenue goals. ⚔️🖤💛
I didn’t even think about the cost savings to staying home. That is huge👍🏻Good question, but I’m thinking this is a way better alternative than paying to send our team on the road.
