Supposedly almost the whole pacific fleet is on the California coast right now.

Something doesn't seem quite right.

Apparently all the ports in Long Beach and LA are slammed with imports and they can’t get them out fast enough. Ships are waiting for days to unload. This is why Wish takes so long, but those savings...

Do they use military ports for transport ships? I would think they'd be separate but have no idea

Some of those look like freighters. I know San Diego usually has some ships parked near downtown and then some across from the Sheraton Marina. Maybe it’s just traffic issues along the coast. They get cruise ships too.

Any ship can be a cruise ship. It all depends on how you use it. I’m probably confusing hotel views with some other port city.

No, you are not confusing San Diego. The city is uniquely situated where you see all of it. The bay front hotels have amazing views.

Cruise ships, cargo ships, warships, all use San Diego Bay. They have different berthing areas. The cruise ships off of San Diego come to port now for provisions and then head back out to anchor wait out the Rona.

It Depends on how you understand a “port.” The Navy has it’s own “parking spots” for their ships onboard Navy bases. Cruise ships have cruise terminals. Cargo ships berth near cargo terminals.

We have 2 Cruise ships parked off Cape Canaveral. I expect they are avoiding docking fees while they are not sailing.

Have seen Subs many times over the years and some smaller Navy ships. But that has nothing to do with the 2 Cruise Ships that have been parked of shore for a few months.

Yep, that’s it. it looks like there are a couple of cruise ships anchored out there, but mostly cargo waiting to get in.

Ding, ding, ding, we have a winner! There are some cruise ships off of Long Beach right now, but it's mostly cargo (and it is quite crowded). Definitely not the Pacific Fleet! You can see their positions live here: www.marinetraffic.com

Forgot to mention, most interesting thing I see from that site is a complete mass of cruise ships east of south Florida and south of Grand Bahama. That would be a site to see.
