I didn't sleep at all after the game. I went from Stanford, back to the hotel for a couple hours, and then to the airport at 3:30 a.m. in advance of the 5 a.m. flight. Got home yesterday around 5:30 p.m. and am only now catching up on certain things.
This may have been screen grabbed or GIF'd already, I'm not sure, but I went back and watched the DVR and then screen grabbed this. Holman's hand did not appear to collide with the helmet, but rather the blitzing Stanford LB's forearm/elbow area. If you watch the video, it's a pretty vicious impact and it snaps back. The TV video angles didn't show any of the aftermath as the throw was nearly an interception.
As for the injury specifics, all GOL would say was "hand" and 2-4 week timeframe. GOL later added something about "sutures" so that does appear to confirm there was blood involved in the injury since apparently portions of the hand/finger had to sewn up. Given this is his throwing hand, 2-4 weeks may be a little generous.
