Couple of SEC championship game appearances, 2 time Heisman runner up. I think they won 2 Cotton Bowls when he was at Ole Miss including a beatdown on a top 5 Texas Tech team. We don't need a coach like that. We need to get a guy who has beat some of the greatest coaching minds in the MAC.
Some Arkansas fans wanted Nutt to put the ball up in the air 50 times a game (Gus Malzahn was the OC and they had brought in his HS QB who was one of the top prospects in the country, to go along with one of the top 10 WR prospects in the country.) Nutt wanted to run the ball a lot more than throw it. Which was a really bad idea because he had terrible players like Peyton Hillis, Felix Jones and Darren McFadden running the ball.
He also won at Arkansas, which is like winning at FSU, Florida, Texas and USC. Schools with all the advantages. He's never had to go out and find diamonds in the rough. Arkansas is known for the great high school football, probably one of the top 2 or 3 states in population and high school football talent. 75-48 at Arkansas. Terrible, just terrible. Certainly not a guy that would come here, finish his career, put a very competitive team on the field and carry us across the finish line of a Power 5 invite.
