How Coach Frost Cured all that ailed UCF Football…

"While the grumpy one lives on...." lol

Immediately stopped reading when the writer said MM will be something special.

"The Fiesta Bowl win with Blake and Storm is something I’ll watch at least once a year for the rest of my life, sure, but it still isn’t as great as that old Marshall win that broke the losing streak"

Really? this guy has obviously not been a fan long

This guy is right but for all the wrong reasons. Frost has cured most ails at UCF but not for the reasons he states. FB did you write this article?

Let the kid (MM) have a full year in the program and then make your decision. Guess it didn't take much to dethrone Holman. Worst off, next QB will be able to be both a playmaker and consistently complete passes. That next QB could be re-tooled MM or one of the new recruits coming in.
We've had some really bad starting freshmen QBs in the past and he was better than them.

That's Pulitzer prize winning writing there. Good stuff!

Not trying to bash MM at all, I think he'll be a serviceable QB but he'll definitely need to make the Freshman gains to be a force on the team next year.

I think he'all be passed up from the QB from Virginia. Dude has the height and mobility you want.

One of the last true Freshmen to start at QB was Godfrey in 2010 and he had a solid year.
KL: hadn't Godfrey gone through spring ball with us first? Also, the offensive line was pretty good as well as experienced.
KVision: Yes, we did have a string of disastrous to mediocre freshmen QBs since 2003. Bortles was mostly effective in relief of a struggling Godfrey as a redshirt freshman.

Axis should go back to what it does best; finding the athletes' hot girlfriends and doing risqué shoots in the locker room. Bonus if it doubles as a preview of sweet, new Nike gear.

Stupid me, I was actually hoping it was an article that went into the behind the scenes things that were improved over this year, i.e. facilities, equipment, computers, walls painted- hell anything that was changed- if anything.

I agree. Instead it was like someone was reading this message board and decided to write an article and cited a bunch of unsubstantiated mumbo jumbo that people here pull out of their butt as authority. They need to stick to the UCF party scene

Godfrey ended up being terrible and he did better than Milton. Daunte and Ryan Schneider did better as well. Ryan may have been RS though. Milton has 8 months to lift weights and work on accuracy. Should be able to tell if he's ever going to get it in that amount of time.

They'll work on his throwing mechanics, footwork, pass progressions, option reads in Frost's offensive system.

Godfrey was far from terrible...he still threw at a very high percentage...just that opposing D's were able to slow down UCF's offense in 2011 when it got into the red zone.

Godfrey stats:
2010: 67% completion...2,159 passing yards...13 TD passes, 8 INT's, 3.7 yds per rush, 10 rushing TD's, 566 rushing yds, 154.3 QB Rating

2011: (shared time with Bortles but started all 12 games)
69% completion, 1,900 yds passing, 5 TD passes, 5 INT's, 3.6 yds per rush, 9 rushing TD's, 405 rushing yards, 140.5 QB Rating

Milton's stats this year:
2016: 58% completion, 1,808 yds passing, 9 TD passes, 7 INT's, 1.7 yds per rush, 3 rushing TD's, 117 rushing yds,

If Milton starts all the games, minus the percentage, his stats would be similar to Godfreys Sophomore year. So 1 full year more than Milton and similar stats to a terrible QB is terrible.

After his sophomore season, Godfrey was listed in the top ten for all time NCAA completion percentage. Of course, with the arrival of the hurry-up, high-percentage short-passing offenses around the country, several QBs jumped ahead of him.

Mike White was garbage at USF vs AAC Defenses and put up huge stats in Conference USA this season....

Take that into account with the Godfrey Hot Takes

Culpepper Sr year was 73 %. Godfrey wasn't even best at UCF, let alone Nation.

That wouldn't he changed his QB rating or yds per rush much. (Heck, they could have gotten worse if Milton was forced to start just weeks after his arrival to campus.)

Hope Milton and many others can improve this Spring/Summer before 2017 season.

He would have padded his stats against SC State and couldn't have done much worse than Holman and Patti. 24 QBR.
