Lost in OT by 1. Down our starting PG. Tacko Fall played really well. We are going to have scorers with BJ, Adonys, and AJ. Rough start to the season but team has a ton of potential.
Fun game to watch, but horrible play calling down the stretch. also, free throws continue to be an issue.
the team would be better playing fast.
Donnie's halfcourt offense coming out of timeouts is atrocious. Does he ever draw up plays or does he tell the guards to launch fade away 3s?

DJ should be a recruiting coordinator for an actual basketball coach.
Sorry I don't deal with hypotheticals based on future hope that I'm sure 175 teams also say.
I've yet to see one inbound play that makes any sort of sense from jones in crucial, game on the line moments. Just "pass to one guy and god I hope he makes a play on his own". Down 1 and we take the clock down from 22 seconds for a near final shot? Please.
Free throws still terrible. Lost tonight even though out rebounded them by 100. I guess I don't see the optimism outside of "this team has talent" which they absolutely do. Which is why my comment praises the talent but remains unconvinced of that whole actual coaching basketball thing.
I'm with you...we have been awful out of timeouts for the entire time he's been here. And again under 70% from the stripe....not good. We will be a decent team, especially once BJ is back...but I would thing Donny is on thin ice with the new AD
AD White is going to look for any excuse to fire him and bring in his own guy if there isn't a big improvement this season
I'm in the Donnie camp until I see what happens next season. We are stacked with young talent that he recruited. This from a basketball season ticket holder.
We looked more talented and Taco is going to be special for sure. I think we win more games but the play calling down the stretch was bad (before half, end of regulation, and in overtime).
I was more impressed with AJ Davis than anyone. But offense is ugly. I don't know if its by design or players just lazy, but so many times we have 4 guys standing still and one guy dribbling at the top of the basket. Not the way to beat a zone, or any defense for that matter. Even the announcers at one point mentioned it. You got move to get the zone moving. I see better movement and coordination on offense in my son's 12 and under basketball league than I do from our team and that's not an exaggeration. There does seem to be a good amount of talent on this team, but certainly frustrating to watch at times.
I AGREE, but next year, free throws have to be better along with Donnie's coaching. Clock management (shooting when shot clock runs out) will cost us every game! :-(
I think when BJ gets back we will be in better synch offensively and will also help with free throw %. It will be interesting if Tacko develops on the offensive side and can hit free throws when they start the hacks. He definitely made a good impression on the defensive side. We need to get the ball in AJ hands a lot!!! He can create shots.
Both teams we faced will likely be in the ncaa tourney so probably at least mid-level AAC type competition.
Anyone know if BJ is back on Saturday?
