How many in here are pinball machine owners?

Find me a KISS pinball machine. I need one for my man cave. Not looking for "wealth preservation" .... Just want to play the damn thing. Reliving my childhood days at the roller rink.

Woa woa, no need to get personal!

Sorry, I think it’s hilarious a grown, educated (allegedly) man preserves his wealth through pinball machines.

1. I'll get personal. You're a judgmental asshole with some weird superiority complex. Very simple. I've done nothing to you.

2. Any person diversifies, this is one of many fun ways to preserve wealth, like classic cars, antiquities, etc. Buy cheap, restore and resell. They rarely go down in value.

3. People enjoy them, they are fun and easy to play. Like many others they have a sense of nostalgia. Most people that play them are over 21...and in bars. So your "grown man" comment was condescending.

4. I have a machine near the attractions at a resort that gets me a residual 150.00-400.00 a week.

4. Please enlighten all of us, because you seem to act like you know more.

There are many other articles on restore\resell...that was the first I found.

88 is a documented shithead. Don't feel the need to defend yourself to him.

I volunteered for Gamewarp convention about 4 years ago, it was a charity for Boys and Girls club of America. In working with the machines, I learned how much some were purchased for and with a little bit of easy work (replacing bulbs, small electronics), the resell was insane...

So, I tested the theory and bought a Robocop machine for 800.00, #767 of 1500, threw some LEDS in it and removed the incandescent lights, re-soldered a few things and got it working. Got an offer on it for 2500.00. Spent maybe 300.00 in repair\restore. So, that's better than a small mutual fund on the return over a year.

I have a couple in my living room on rotation along with a coin-op stand-up arcade cabinet. They are immediate conversation pieces, people loved them regardless of age\sex and you have the nostalgia-factor also. I know of a couple others that have bought a machine or two after seeing mine.

I am also the Central Florida admin for Pinballmap.com (also residual income from ads) and representative for Pinside.com, a great resource for those wanting to get into pins.

After the AAC game we went downtown and found a bar called Joysticks. It's pretty cool- basically an old style arcade with a bar in it. They had tons of old games + 3-4 pinball machines.

The classic arcade is coming back...why? Because of Generation X and Baby-Boomers still wanting their coin-ops when drinking a beer. Pinball lounge is another great place, it is at Oviedo Bowling, but separated. 24 machines, full bar and grill. Always busy.

We have a family friendly sports bar in Satellite Beach called Doubles, they have a couple pinball machines, a couple standup cabinets and sit-in racing games, plus a claw machine. The whole family loves it.

I actually REALLY like that pin...if you ever sell it, let me know. That is the one with the mini-game in the back-box.
