How many of you would at least consider that our own government is the biggest threat to our freedom?

I think most conservatives believe this.
Exactly. Government is by far the greatest threat to freedom across all civilizations and all ages. Which is why the first 10 amendments to our constitution limit the power of the federal government.

The biggest threat to my freedom is other people, especially ones with guns that want my property, and the government is made up of other people with guns that want my tax money and obedience.

Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security are taking your property at the point of gun. I would be surprised if any other thief could get away with that weekly, biweekly or however often you get paid.

The entire Constitution is a limit to the government powers. If it's not enumerated (listed) the government can't do it.

That is a bunch of BS. Most people are against government unless it does what they think is the right thing to do:
Liberals want more taxes and bigger government to redistribute wealth.

Conservatives are ok with the taxes as long as it goes to defense, corporate welfare (sorry, job creation) and to fight abortion

Ah that's cute. Any evidence of that? Like one time where Repubicans with a majority ever tried to cut entitlements? Bill Clinton did.

People need to stop believing all the rhetoric, and start paying attention to actions. Talk is cheap.

I'm not OK with taxes.

Me either, they need to cut the $57B increase on defense from the budget and give us back our money. I bet $56.5B goes to corrupt defense contractors and (maybe) $500M to help the troops

Lol. Nothing needs to be cut from the $1.83T and climbing that is spent on entitlements yearly though? [roll]

cuts need to be made across the board. our defense spending is crazy, it should not have seen an increase. you are also right, there needs to be alot of reduction in the entitlements as well.

Well, kind of. He cut a program and diverted the funds into another program that was intended to reduce the cost of welfare. Unfortunately, welfare programs have increased in funding regularly ever since.
