How many UCF fans were at the game?

I don't know how to find official numbers, but I was in section 51 row 15 right next to the student section and there was at least one UCF group in each row by me.

However many, they were loud and supportive of UCF. Apparently, the Knights travel well. Except for the score, I hope that they had an enjoyable experience in Ann Arbor and at the Stadium.

So hard to tell in a stadium that big. Even 5,000 people is like a drop in a bucket among 100,000. Ann Arbor really is a beautiful college town to be in this time of year. I'm not sure where all the people came from to fill the stadium (I suppose they drove in and out from all over the surrounding area) because the actual town had almost a sleepy feel on Friday except in the bars that we packed into. We had people ask us what UCF was and what were we doing in town on Friday while walking around downtown - these were clearly the non-football fans of the town.

Our fans were ready to explode early on, but there obviously wasn't a whole lot to get amped for. Before long you're just looking for any play to get excited about - Killins delivered it. It would've been cool if they had distributed the tickets to UCF in one solid section like South Carolina did instead of carving up the worst seats of a few sections in a line at the top. Still did not seem like a bad view from up there. The weather Saturday was sketchy all day with bursts of rain and random gusts of wind. Sunday's weather would've been ideal for a game.

Most of the Michigan fans were gracious, but we ran into a few jerks. While that can happen anywhere It's still shocking when a fan of a non-conference 30+ point favorite gives you crap for traveling 1,100 miles for what we knew was going to be a tall task. Hopefully they got the revenge for 1997 out of their system and they can let that one go. Harbaugh can create new lasting memories for them I'm sure. I'd say that overall South Carolina last year was a better host team than Michigan, but it was a cool experience.

Hammer: Please post pictures. Love to see them. I was up before classes started last year, so it was really "sleepy." Any leaves starting to change -- probably not with all the hot weather. Takes a cool spell.

We estimated about 5000. Every bar we went to had at least 10-20 UCF fans. Definitely lived up to the "win or lose we still booze." It's going to take me until November to recover from this weekend.

No leaves changing yet. Probably just a few weeks away from that. The temperatures at night got a little chilly for us FL folks, but not bad at all. I was actually expecting a little cooler night time weather. I really liked all the walkable neighborhoods weaved around the downtown/campus area and the stadium. Many of the people we met have ties to FL one way or another - they either spend their winters down here or they know plenty of people who have relocated to FL, so that was interesting too.

Here's a few shots from the UCF section:

Wow! Thanks. Take any pics of you guys out and about?

I was in section 12 row 20. A couple of UCf fans splashed around, but not major group in my area. Did see and hear the UCF seciton above me though.

That's bush when a school doesn't give a visiting school a solid section. It is also dangerous mixing fans from opposing sides. It's not safe to brings spouses and kids. A visitor section also creates a healthier competition as to who can cheer louder.

eh, fans are safe in Michigan Stadium unless they are from tOSU or Michigan State. This is the B1G not the SEC !!

I was really brave with my seats this time, but I'll think twice about it if I hear things like I heard when UCF visited Virginia Tech.

Any plans for a future Michigan game??? I would love to go back there or to Notre Dame. Maybe Danny White can pull it off. We don't have to play them at home as part of the agreement.

I'm also a big ND fan. Going to a home game in South Bend is like a mixing a sporting event with visiting a museum. You get the best AND worst of both. The crowd is annoyingly quiet and reserved outside of the student section. UCF home games are much wilder. But the history of the entire place and the pageantry and tradition of the whole gameday experience is cool.

So that's where the UCF section was; we could not for the life of us find it. We were sitting right next to the UM student section on the left side a little less than halfway up in that first picture. From our side it was hard to tell navy blue from black. I thought we were strewn throughout the stadium. It was quiet where we were sitting, the students were loud with their organized chants but otherwise-meh. Most people were very nice, and got many compliments on the UCF turnout and play.

A trip to Wisconsin would be fun. I hear Madison is another must-see college town.

Madison is a great place to visit on a football weekend. It's an elite public flagship but they play a little football. Don't visit too late in the fall or you will quickly learn why "Jump Around" was developed -- so cold in that stadium that you can't feel your body let alone your fingers, toes and face. The beer freezes on the sidewalks post game. Ha, a great trip !

I'm surprised you couldn't see the collective face palm occurring throughout the whole first quarter from there.

At this point I'm just grateful they didn't give us the last row in a ring around the entire stadium.

There are probably some posters on here who were at the UCF @Wisconsin game in 2004. I was a poor college student at that time. It takes a few years after graduating and getting set up in a career before you can start making the fun/longer trips! That's why our traveling fan base should just keep growing and growing as the young alumni move into middle age -- going to be fun to be a part of.
