While our football conference primarily serves as a developmental league for P5 coaches, the AAC has some of the most illustrious basketball coaches, none of whom will hired away in the next couple years. Perhaps the difference is due to basketball being more about coaches' success at recruiting and developing pro-prospects. Thus, UCLA, Kentucky, and North Carolina's hoops coaches have a rep of getting their freshmen and sophomores drafted as lottery picks. In football, it's coaching on the field that matters most because many P-5 schools recruit well.
