Yeah, the game was closer than anybody would have liked and it would have been great to 64-12 those guys at some point, and this is obviously 100% influenced by the outcome, but tonight was a lot of fun. Awesome atmosphere, especially at the end.
Still a good season for UCF, but nothing really on the line and the place was packed on Thanksgiving weekend. It wasn't that long ago Thanksgiving weekend was a death knell for attendance. Sure, student support could have been a smidge better but you can't fault any kids for going home and not being able to make it back.
UCF hasn't had to travel out of state for a Thanksgiving weekend game since 2010 (Memphis). 2011-12 were home games and every game since 2013 has obviously been the War on I-4 in Orlando or Tampa.
I'm just not sure I see a Thanksgiving weekend game against Kansas State or Iowa State resonating the same, but maybe I'm wrong. Not really looking forward to a potential late November road game in a cold-weather climate either.
I may be in the minority since a lot of you guys want to leave usf in the dust, but I'll miss it.
