I guess we're not talking about the National Embarrassment against USF Saturday Knight?

I don't even know what to say. How does this happen?

I guess our only game is the 3 pointer. If another team covers us on the 3, we're beat?

I started typing but don't feel like I'm a big enough basketball fan to deserve an opinion and didn't want to bash the program so I didn't post it. Twice.

There was a thread on the game and some comments afterward. It was an embarrassing loss that followed 2 good wins and a couple of losses (one embarrassing). This team is either very good or very bad for various reasons (read that thread). That's a bad formula. Good coaches prevent the repetition of bad losses, before they become a habit, by demanding excellence. Johnny didn't do that at Stanford and got gone. If this continues, he should be on the clock here.

I feel we now know who this team is. The talent is there and when hitting the jump shots the team can be really good. When the shots are falling the defense ramps up and the energy is high with the full court traps.
When the shots aren’t falling we have shown that we can be beaten by anyone. The heads are down, the defense is lackluster along with the effort.
We live and die by the individual jump shot, not much in the way of a team game. That isn’t a very good strategy.

"National Embarrassment" is a bit strong. I don't think anyone nationally cares.

Proud the Women's team knocked off a ranked usf.

Hopeful that the Men's team will rally and start to play up to their potential. Right now, its been a disappointment for what was expected to be the most talented Dawkins lead team.

UCF is 2-3 in conference play. That ain't gonna make any post season tourny. UCF will have to win it to make it or win the conference playoff. Neither of that looks to happen at this point.

Tonight, UCF @ECU 7pm ESPN+, or Radio.

For the women's team, I watched that entire game. They really played great and have a tough game against @SMU on Wednesday.

Curious enough duh*bulls women's team dropped out of the top 25 in the AP poll but remain a few votes higher than UCF even though UCF beat them pretty good. USF has some top team wins but watching the game the other night UCF looked way better. UCF women's team should be in the top 25 with the better record but typical poles are subjective. A win @SMU may do it.

yep Program is followed but the passion & investment from most fans doesn’t match football. and there is not a consensus on expectations

People might care more about expectations and state of the basketball program when they are equivalent to Kansas football team role in B12. Lost in the shuffle and making no noise good or bad is easy to ignore, finishing in the basement will raise awareness.

Yup, that's why Stanford said Buh bye

That's what Johnny has built. It's been 4 years.

Let's see what Johnny comes out with tonight.

This site has been known to be like the liberal media :) If they don't like the news, they don't report it.
Our conference mates are kicking our butt, short of Memphis, and the Bulls were really the first team to make us look like we have no business going to the Big Dance in March. Credit to the AAC teams that beat us, and most of all, credit to the Bulls.

They took out all their frustration with us in that game. Over the past few months, they've been literally complaining about every sport losing to us, especially as contracts are being renewed for some many of their coaches with losing records.

And regardless of all the games we beat or even destroyed them in years prior, or even this year ...

This was very sweet for them, and they enjoyed it. And even as dellusional as I think they cows are, I'll let them enjoy it. They gave us a proper beatdown, and deserve to enjoy it. They really haven't had many the past decade versus us.

Maybe I'm wrong, but this seems to be almost every basketball program not in the top 20. Inconsistent and winning some and losing some. Not a basketball guy myself, but my observation

Doesn't take a top 20 program to finish .500 in conference. In past three seasons the team is 17-24 in AAC play.

Or we could be like Fox News and brainwash our fans that after such a terrible loss we are still great. We could even call ourselves patriots too for believing all of the crap spewed at us.
That would be any news network nowadays. Back-to-back embarrassment in progress. 3 out of last 4 games are an embarrassment, with an excellent game against Memphis thrown in. Really hard to like this team when they play so erratically from one game to the next.

I looked at the score with barely more than 6 minutes left (down 68-60). Stats looked life-less. We then went on a 12-4 run to end regulation. Then Mahan went on a 10-2 run to start OT….and we made FTs down the stretch.

Resurrected from the fire (like the Phoenix), this team rises again. Being this streaky is not a good thing.

The last 6 games we've been the BBall version of Jekyll and Hyde. Hopefully we use this comeback to start a winning streak.

I turned it off at half and we win. Crazy. Caught up on some tv. I wish they’d play with urgency from the tip.

Tread lightly my friend... I read multiple sources, and have come to an independent conclusion that most (if not all) "journalism" has turned to opinion pieces... Then it becomes necessary to understand the backgrounds / agendas of those making said opinions.

Best thing to do as an educated UCF Knight is to think independently, have sound reason and rationale, not just regurgitate what is heard on any media source (TV, internet, social media). First understand the issue, contribute thought to a solution... Don't hinge on talking points or headlines.

Question "news" sources and their specific verbiage used, all have an agenda, so will twist words to obtain buy-in.

That died with Walter Cronkite ....
At least we knew when Cronkite was giving his opinion ... like after Tet hit.

Back then journalists used to have integrity, so when they turned to opinion, they said things like, "it is clear to this reporter ..." after making a multi-sided, objective set of statemnts, he interjects something subjective ... his opinion on what the options likely are, given all the other, objective realities.

But Cronkite cheated on his wife and was a bad person in other ways according to some, so we should cancel him too ... right?

People have been giving their opinions for a long time. He even spoke out against the Presidents view on war. Probably was political. Today’s reporters don’t have to announce they are giving an opinion. You know as soon as you turn channels on what side you are listening too.
