Linebacker Chequan Burkett.........It's definitely more intense (than last year). There's more competition. Everybody is trying to get better. We know where we've got to go from here. Everybody is on board. We're just pushing and taking everything to the next step."

I think this shows that GOL was heading to Athletic Director and Looney tune Brent Key was in charge.

This started the down fall.

Sorry for the old crud but as an engineer, you tend to analyze "why things failed" :)

Thoughts?

It's obvious UCF outgrew GOL and you dont need a 0-12 season to figure out when someone already has one foot out the door.

Key is apparently doing better and is well liked in the SEC so...whatever. Good for him and let those million dollar programs deal with his ups and downs.

I'm optimistic for this upcoming season but we'll see what happens.

All I know for sure is that we can only get better and go farther from here. If it's too little too late for a P5 bid is anyones guess but I've seen more hype for this upcoming season than anything since 2006.

Lucky for Key Alabama gets the best players. Makes it easier...

Wait till those special players at Alabama don't progress then Key will be unemployed again. Key will be a good OL coach for Ohio, somewhere where they can get decent OL talent but don't expect to win many games due to OL.

Key will get another golden parachute and he will eventually fall where he belongs.

It was so painful to listen to Charlie Taaffe do radio color commentary last year. It is clear now, if it wasn't before, that UCF's offensive success was largely due to him and perhaps in spite of GOL. Looking back isn't productive except to recognize what a leap forward from mediocrity and toward quality the entire program has made under Danny's direction.

I don't think he's that bad a coach, is he? He'll probably excel as 0.5 of OL coach.
