If he resigned with no buyout, Respect to Gus!

He was talking to Norvell way before last night
No doubt. They worked together. It’s a heckuva day to try to revive what they did at Ohio State making Chip Kelly the OC when he He had previously coached and employed Ryan Day That didn’t look like a great idea today. Norvel had worked for Gus before at Tulsa.

Interesting watching FSU’s frosh QB right now…he’s a big kid who can run and throw some….gotta figure that Norvell’s thinking that Gus Malzahn might have his next Cam Newton…..maybe there’s a method to his madness….unfortunately based on Gus’ time here, with what we’ve seen for 4 years, probably not.

I have a feeling that Gus days were numbered after the West Virginia loss. It was set in. play then it just came out today. There is no way that this occurred after the abysmal showing last night. Gus was probably told no.bowl no job

I have trashed Tmo but if he has anything to do w no buyout I tip my cap..potential Program saving chess move

Now don’t screw up the next hire . Don’t listen to emotional UCF Twitter fans yelling Frost. He should be a candidate but not the first or second choice. He should also take a couple big swings and let them tell you No then move on.

This didn’t happen between the end of the game yesterday and today. This smells of Frost having backdoor communication for a couple of months before taking the Nebraska job.

Not that I care. Glad he’s gone but it would be interesting to hear how this all went down.

But why does he turn down $5 million to make $1.5 (?) as a FSU OC?
Along with giving up buyout. Suddenly everyone thinks Malzahn will do everything for UCF and Mohajir is a genius.

I would be reluctant to believe either of that is true, wouldn't be surprised the decision for the next head coach has been made with Malzahn's influence.

This was preserving his reputation and still allowing him to coach. We’re going to be really bad next year. The roster is completely depleted and he’s been losing recruits left and right. If we go 2-10 next year and he was fired, he wouldn’t get another coaching job anywhere respectable quickly again. He gets to save some face here and the idiot pundits who think he’s still some offensive genius are eating it up.

His reputation. He was also getting booed at every place he showed up at. Sometimes money is less important as being happy. He gets at least 8 months of FSU fans being happy they hired him.

There is some validity to reputation of being fired twice. However, it's silly to think he gave up $12 million for that, without something being done behind closed doors.

It is legitimate to think he knew the team was going to at best win 2 games next year. The cupboard is empty, worse than 2020. He doesn't want to be associated with next season.

With the right hire we win 9 games next year.

And if Norvell gets fired midway through the season next year guess who gets to be the head coach of FSU…

Oh, please say that isn't true!

Gus is a nice guy, wish him well.....but was a disaster at:
1. Hiring assistants
2. Developing players
3. Calling offense - was starting to think UCF was another military academy
4. Game management
5. Recruiting the QB position

All TRUE UCF fans should be glad this nightmare is over.......just think, FSU gave us one of our greatest coaches in Gene McDowell and took one of our worst off our hands. Thanks FSU!
