I honestly don't know why people are making a deal out of this. She knew she couldn't perform and if she did it would put herself at risk. Arrogant athletes take that risk and sometimes lose their career or their lives. She was smart.

Probably because we put expectations on them to succeed at all costs and don’t care that they aren’t robots. We look at sports as an escapist activity and demand 100% since they collect millions.

As I said in a similar thread, most people who are critical in this manner probably have to pop 4 xanax to do a presentation and would urinate all over themselves if they stood in front of 50,000 people to play a game.
