Steve Sloan held ucf back. Orsini helped ucf build all the facilities and athletic village. Used debt financing to get ucf over the "we can't build it because we don't have $100 million like Sloan thought".
I graduated from FSU but my wife and daughter are UCF alum and my daughter was a Marching Knight. We are thrilled GOL is gone.
UCF to take their time and hire a young but experienced AD that has the vision to see what UCF has the potential to be. There is no reason UCF cant dominate the AAC in every sport until the opportunity comes along to move up to a Power 5 conference. They should be the first team mentioned when these talks arise.
Happy day for my family when GOL resigned. If he remained as AD it would have been a CAT10 disaster. Ive seen GOL speak over the years at various events and he is the biggest curmudgeon ever. He flat out insults and belittles fans and players in public. Not to mention the worse game clock manager in all of college football.
Aggressive forward looking AD and an experienced coach that can go into a families home and not piss them off and hopefully recruit some of the many 3, 4 & 5 star Florida players that want to play now and stay in Florida.
Here's to hoping. These are huge hires for UCF and they need to get them right this time.
