If you didn't end up at UCF, which other school would you have gone to?

USF maybe, but I had family in Tampa, and I wanted to get away and do it on my own.

Maybe FAU? I liked U Miami, but it was too expensive.

I always wanted to go to UCF. If I somehow didn't get in, I would have gone to Vanderbilt, Penn, University of Chicago, Michigan, or Cornell since they threw some $$$ my way. I'm very glad I met UCF's high academic standards in the 1990s and they too threw some dough my way and I didn't have to go elsewhere.

UF. I've always hated the arrogance of that place though so it made my decision easy.

UF, Penn, West Point, Navy, and Lehigh, were my other choices.

Florida State. Got accepted at UCF, UF, & FSU. Was transferring in as a junior. Money situation killed the move to Tally. Orlando was closer. Best decision, to be honest.

Push come to shove probably FSU or UF since they woulda been free as well. But if I didn't go to UCF then that means I probably would have continued with baseball which means G-Town or William&Mary most likely.

I was a transfer, for me, probably FIU. I wanted to get away from Tampa Bay, but only to Orlando or Miami. UM was my first choice but too expensive. I would never want to live in Gainesville or Tally.

I know it probably blows that little brain of yours, but each of those schools offered me money.

Any other pointless responses that you'd like to add?

Went to Stetson on partial scholarship then transferred to UCF. Had no thoughts of going anywhere else.

Being a brainwashed legacy, I never thought about or applied anywhere else. Valencia's Direct Connect was my back-up.

FSU, FAU, or FGCU would have probably been my choices. If money wasn't an issue, UM may have been on top with possibly Tulane in the mix as well.

I wanted to continue to play club Ice Hockey so UCF was my first choice. Both my parents went to Florida Southern in Lakeland where I grew up so that was an option as was USF but I needed to get out of Polk County. I looked at UNF too but didn't really like it. I always liked FSU growing up but didn't even apply because of their hockey situation.

Which one of those isn't like the other?

I got accepted to Boston U and wanted to go there as my first choice, but even with them throwing money at me, there was no way to afford it.

Almost went to Camo Tech, but a lady in Vero died before I enlisted and offered free schollys to the community college for anybody who went to my high school. I took the money and didn't look back. It got me 2 years paid for so I could work and pay the last 2. Financially, UCF was the best opportunity for me but I was accepted in FSU and considered going there.

I went to UF out of high school. At the time I made that decision I had narrowed down the schools to which I was accepted to UF and Florida Southern. My scholly was no good at Florida Southern, so that's why I chose UF (in addition to those two, I was also accepted to UCF and FSU). I lasted a year at UF before my dad got sick which forced me home and to finish up at community college. I then transferred to UCF because it was the closest.

Princeton wanted me bad and U of Minnestota was interested but UCF was close to home, had a good QB, and I had a full ride academic. Turned out to be a good choice.

Georgetown and Dartmouth were my two choices besides Flagler. Did first year at UCF while I was in HS. Didn't want a big school, and realized I loved the beach.

I WAS REALLY CLOSE TO ENLISTING IN THE AIR FORCE AND DOING MY COLLEGE DURING. I WAS ACCEPTED TO EMBRY RIDDLE AND WAS LOOKING AT ROTC BUT THE OFFICER ADVISED ME TO JUST GET MY DEGREE AND NOT TRY TO THINK THAT I WOULD HAVE TIME WHILE IN THE AIR FORCE. HE ALSO SUGGESTED THAT I CHECK OUT UCF SINCE IT IS ACCREDITED THE SAME WAY BUT WAAAAAAY CHEAPER. ALSO MY AUNT WENT TO UCF, SO THERE'S THAT.

I originally wanted to go to UF because thats is where a lot of my family went. However did some research and found out that UCF had the better computer science program, and a bunch of my close friends wanted to go to UCF as well. I only applied to UCF, as Brevard Community College was my back up.

Florida State.

I applied to UCF, UNF, FSU, & UF. Got in everywhere - onyl considered UCF and FSU (grew up an FSU fan)
I suppose a small chance i would have stayed home at UNF.

Growing up in Orlando, I had very little exposure to UCF. Knew absolutely nothing about the school and my choices were Montana, Xavier, or Chattanooga. Montana "offered" a baseball scholly with no baseball team, that was an easy no. Xavier had a good team but was in Ohio, so that too, an easy no (though it was my best scholarship offer). Tennessee doesn't suck as a state and Chattanooga isn't a bad little city; so I went there. Funny thing, turns out I wasn't a very good baseball player, so after two years and a shrinking scholarship, a cousin convinced me to come back home and go to UCF. Wish I had gone there first and wasn't so naive about it from the onset. Never once considered any other schools in Florida, as I can't stand most of the humans that attended those institutions.

Georgia Tech was first choice, then UGA, or Memphis State. I chose a different life path and wound up in Florida. Orlando, Mickey Mouse, great October to May weather. A no brainer for me.

I started at Case Western Reserve University after HS on a partial scholarship. My parents moved to Orlando after my freshman year. My scholarship expired after my sophomore year and there was no way to afford CWRU tuition without it, so I transferred to UCF and was able to get in-state tuition right away. I looked at usf and UF. Neither appealed to me. UCF was the way to go.

I contemplated some small schools on baseball scholarship but decided to hang it up. If UCF didn't pan out I guess I was headed to UF or FSU. UCF was my first choice since I wanted to be near a metro area and not stuck in a total college town.

UF was my first choice as all my friends were applying there, but was deferred then ultimately rejected later on in the process. Only other school I wanted to go to was UCF. In the end, not getting into UF was one of the best things that ever happened to me.

I was accepted to Quinnipiac, Coast Guard, UNC-Charlotte, UNC Chapel Hill, FSU, UF, UAB and USF as well as UCF. I was living in Tallahassee at the time and felt I needed a change, so scratched off FSU, UF was too much like FSU when visiting, so scratched them off. UAB just sucked. I was down to UCF, Quinnipiac, and the Coast Guard academy in Groton, CT (near family). Being a musician and loving the entertainment focus in Orlando, I focused on that in choosing UCF.

I was looking at a few,
Emory was #1 but was just not cost effective.
I like UMiami but also too expensive. I would have gotten a Employee Discount, and still would have been over 17K a yr.
Between UF, FSU, UCF, USF, FIU, FAU it was a hard choice between FIU, and UCF. I did not want to go to UF or FSU.
FIU was I could save on not having to pay dorm fees as I could live at home, but then I would not get a college experience. UCF was a 3 hour drive, which was far enough away, and close enough to visit on holidays without too much hassle.
When I went to UCF my Junior Yr of HS, I saw the campus at UCF and it felt like a home away from home, kinda a love at first sight.

I was applied to and was accepted at UCF, Georgia Tech, and Carnegie Mellon. I almost pulled the trigger on Carnegie Mellon, but my scholarships to UCF basically payed me $5000 per year while in school vs coming out of school with over $100,000 in debt.
