Here is some advice, but I'm sure others have even better ideas:
- Update your LinkedIn and lock all social media down to as private as possible.
- Indeed.com is a great place to search for jobs, you can also upload your resume (although you'll have much better luck seeking jobs out instead of waiting for them to seek you out), and with Indeed you can set up email alerts for job searches using various search words, like I had a daily/weekly email of all new job postings that contained the word(s) "program coordinator", "outreach", etc. that were relevant to my background.
- Search for lists of local companies in the finance field, or whatever field you've worked in with project management, and go to each of their company sites and look at the job postings. Many times companies don't post their jobs on any job search website, just their own. Yes, you'll run into a lot of posts that are just to comply with hiring rules when they were doing an internal hire anyway, but it's still worth it.
- Put it out there to friends and family that you're looking. (much like you did here)
- If you need something in the meantime, just grab any job and do some volunteer work because you can always make it look like you were still utilizing your finance skills in a marketable way, just doing it for the benefit of the community. Especially if this unemployment gap lasts longer than a few months.
- Tews is the temp agency Rollins College uses a LOT and it often ends up as a permanent placement, so it's a great place if you need some employment right away:

Good luck!
