Sounded a little bitter that his P5 offers faded away when he took too long to decide. The interviewer also said a couple of times Gus would change the offense to match Wydner’s skill set......which is either false or wildly premature.

I got the feeling he felt he missed out on the attention others received during signing day. Specifically, he made a comment about others at the table and playing the hat grab trick, and he didn't get that opportunity. He sounds like a smart kid, speaks very well for his age, a hard worker, but salty in the process, or experience leading up to signing day. Given other opportunities to GT or Pitt, I would have delayed my decision as well based on recent history of those two schools. Definitely doesn't sound as pumped as Castellanos, perhaps I'm wrong....If it doesn't work out at UCF, there is always the transfer portal. I'm a huge advocate for competition so we'll see what happens this summer. Good luck...!

Hopefully he is motivated by the events around signing day, comes in with a chip on his shoulder and plays with his hair on fire. If he improves his escapability, he has all the tools to be a top tier college QB. With JRP it's all about improving his arm....with Gavin it's about improving his feet.

I’m really hoping JRP or TC can get that starting nod. It was hard to watch the QB play last year, and we are fairly stacked in the WR position this year, would be a shame/waste.

What have you seen at practices to make you UCFeel that way?

Do you really think he is able to run the ball now in a few months? Just sayin.
Have you not seen improvements in QBs before? Wasn't the kid young enough to still be a senior in high school last year? And yeah, the kid is still growing and is bigger which allows him to have more potential in the run. I am sure the game has slowed down substantially. So yeah I am sure he is much more comfortable thinking about running the ball now.

No Its proven Gus will change offense according to what players do. If this Kid is best at throwing Gus will change his offense plan. ALSO this guy has raised his speed from 17 MPH TO 20 ...Just saying many RB run 20 in NFL.. This guy can be Darkhorse. He may be best QB by 2024.

false or wildly premature.....now if he can run, even less likely the offense changes....so thanks for reinforcing my point.

Gus did run his Auburn offense in different years with Nick Marshall (dual) and Jarrett Stidham (statue), so I guess there's precedent for him not relying on one type of QB. Had success with both, too. Lindsey was OC during the Stidham era.

Why does that matter? If he is successful and effective without being a duel threat then he is.
You are familiar with Gus’ offense correct? It’s most successful with a dual threat qb. Just look at who he brought in this cycle (TC and JRP). I can’t believe you have to have me spell it out for you.

It is most successful with the best and most efficient QB at the helm. I am sure he would prefer a certain type of QB, but he will adjust to the player that makes plays. That's what good coaches do.

I don't think some of our new UCFans have seen a UCFreshman QB before.

It's good to see you my UCFriend. Your posts are always dead on.

He cant run. As in, my 42 year old ass could escape pressure better than him.

Obviously if MK doesn't make the jump during his Sophomore year he's riding pine but I think people need to realize having a freshman come in and play lights out seems more like an winning lottery ticket than a sure thing, especially when we aren't a program that can recruit studs year in and year out.

Agree betting on a freshman coming in and starting is a big leap.
