Iphoners question about camera

Is there any way to change the settings of the iPhone 6 so that it doesn't take such giant file size pictures? I think most of them are like 12Mb which is ridiculous for a freaking picture of a cat or lunch or whatever.

There has to be a setting in there somewhere right?

Bigger file size means better quality so why would you want to change that? Isn't your cat or your Jimmy John's sandwich worth it?

The only way I have found so far is by sending the pics via Outlook, you have the option to change the file size. That being said, I have not looked for a way to change it as it doesn't bother me. I'm sure there are apps out there that can change it for you.

When you email the pic from the iPhone it asks what size you want to send. Have you client email the smaller ones if you insist, but seriously the point is to have the best picture possible so you shouldn't want a smaller one

When your storing/emailing thousands of pictures there absolutely is a reason to have smaller photos. There is no practical reason to have a picture over 2-3 mp unless you're a graphics designer/artist.

Especially when it is the seventeenth selfie from the gym of the day. Seriously though she sends me pictures of her laptop screen when she gets confused. Three or four of the same thing at like 8megs each

If she is emailing them to you it will literally prompt her and ask what size she would like to send them at. As for settings, the only thing I can think of off the top of my head is HDR, turn that off and she may make them smaller.

She can choose from various file sizes when she sends them if they are via email.
