Looking at the standings, if you UConn loses this afternoon we come relatively close to controlling our destiny. If we were to win out, we would be 6-2 in conference. We would need Temple to lose another conference game against the East and then if for example there was a three team tie, we could potentially win the tiebreaker because one of the tiebreakers is record within the East division. Uconn already lost in the East to Navy, so today would be their second loss against the East. If Temple loses to us, that would be one loss in the East, and they would need one more. Thus the result would be out of our two losses only one is in the East.
Now look, I totally do not expect this and do not have a delusion that this is the likely outcome. But at the very least I thought it was interesting to note.
