Maybe it was just the overall mood of the show, but a question was asked of GOL last night whether he would offer advice to former Texas coach Mack Brown, who according to some may be interested in the vacant Texas AD job.
GOL sounded less than enthusiastic. I can only guess that during the football season he probably doesn't want to be bothered with a lot of the AD "bureaucratic" stuff. This was his quote:
"AD thing, I think it's hard. My wife went out to the game. That was the first time I've seen her. The big thing is you've got to be detail oriented, have good people you lean on to get things done. I love football. I don't really love bureaucrats. Too many want to meet. I don't want to meet four times when we could make a decision the first time. Bureaucracy is not my cup of tea. I have an 8:15 meeting after the show."
