Is it 2023 yet?

I can’t help but feel like we put Aresco over a barrel with this deal. What a bum of a commissioner, I can’t believe we have 14 years to pay off $8mil of the $18 million lol. UCF, UC and UH def high fiving on their way out the door, laughing their a$$es off.
I was pleasantly surprised by this deal. I was hoping for less than a $20mm exit fee. Having it be $18mm with the final $8mm paid over a 12 year span almost seems like Aresco gave us a nice parting gift.

You take that back!
If Aresco ends up with that gig, we’re all gonna come over to kick you right in the clam! 😉
IDK, better than the usf guy that was a hot candidate for awhile....until they realized usf didn't stand for University of San Francisco.

Wouldn't be surprised if he is the next Big 12 commissioner.

Aresco had to finalize this deal as fast as possible to bring the new teams in and stabilize the AAC. The 18 million was fair but he really cut us some slack on the payoff. I don't think he is a bum. He was under time constraints to get this done to save the AAC.

If you don't have season tix this year you probably aren't going to be able to buy them in 2023. The potential of Texas or Oklahoma playing in Orlando is pretty great. Exciting times ahead. UCF is becoming the future of college football. Sleeping Giant no more.
How does the Big 12 set their schedule?

Big 12 has the incentive to force OU and UT to go and play away games in the new team's cities to screw OU and UT over.

But OU and UT would never want to do that.

Do teams have an influence over the schedule?

Texas used to have a lot of influence but not anymore. They’ll play at UCF one week and at BYU the next week
