Is Taggart going for the buy out money?

I'm starting to believe that duh*bulls coach Taggart is playing for the buy out money (purposely getting genshafted) after reading this Spring Game report:

There's a perfectly legitimate chance that we'll see a very different USF football team take the field this fall, with a brand new up-tempo spread offense. We did not, however, see that team yesterday afternoon. Both the Bulls' Green and White teams were plagued with the usual suspects-- penalties, turnovers, leaky offensive lines and inefficient passing games-- en route to an uninspiring 10-9 Green Team victory.

Taggart "I thought some of the execution could've been better if we were going faster,"

I don't take much from spring games at least under O'leary. The 2013 UCF team had one of the best QBs and offenses in the nation but I remember the offense looking very blah most of the previous spring

Taggart is realizing what Skip Holtz felt before him.... working under Genshaft sucks.

Can you explain that? I don't see how the President gets involved with a football program winning and losing.

Working under Genshaft surely must suck, but getting fired by her helps the pocket book!

Leavitt paid 2.75 million to get fired
Stan Heath: 1.5 million
Skip Holtz: 2.5 million
AD Woolard: paid a buyout. I think a year salary and didn't have to work= Half a million dollars

I don't know what Taggart's Buyout clause is, but I suspect he is going for that cash out. Go look at USF schedule this year. There is no way they make 6 wins and a bowl game this year. He will be fired by Genshaft after this year. #genshafted

Quote from Genshaft on a google'd article:

"It's hard to tolerate mediocrity … especially with a university
that's on the move upward," Genshaft said,

"Everything else is moving forward except for our revenue sports, and
we are real confident about (football coach) Willie (Taggart) moving
forward. And we've got to get our (men's) basketball team moving forward
as well."

Quote from AD harlan:
"This university's too special to not have a team in a bowl game,"
said Harlan,

"There's other measurables I'm excited about. I like our recruiting. I
like what we're doing off the field. I like what we're doing in the
classroom. But certainly we need to win more football games."
This is year 3 of the Taggart experiment...it is not working...If he was smart he would lose on purpose to get that buy out! There is better life after coaching duh*bulls. Ask Skip! He had his team in the Conference Championship game last year. He is not a bad coach. It is just the situation in Tampa that is bad.

The almighty google says Taggart's buyout is 400,000 dollars per year left on his contract. That would be 800,000 buyout if fired after this season. So, Taggart has to lose big on purpose to get that. The cost to fire a coach could be prohibitive to get #genshafted after this season. So, maybe two more years for Taggart?!? So, Taggart probably thinking fire entire coaching staff. Change offensive scheme completely. Get rid of the starting QB AND best Linebacker (just did that before spring game). That may make the team suck enough to get fired.

Also, I learned Genshaft wrote a 500,000 dollar check to Western Kentucky to pay for that contract buyout. #genshafted

With duh*bulls low attendance where are they getting all that money for paying coaching buyouts? Plus, 500,000 a year for their new AD.

Someone with an accounting degree help me figure out where all that money is coming from? Over 7 million dollars of buyout money....

Taggart surely sees greener pastures after getting fired from duh*bulls. THE*JIM landed in the NFL with the 49rs. Stan Heath is now an ESPN analyst. Skip Holtz is off competing for conference championships and beating Big-10 Illinois in the bowl game. Also, now gets to coach ex-Gator Driskel at LaTech.

Taggart is looking at a 800,000 dollar buyout. WHY WIN? FAMU is first game of season. If not then, he has a few more options to lose looking at the schedule. If anything losing to UCF 3 years in a row (book it) could be the final dagger.

+1 Then we can pummel them into oblivion.
My worst fear is he get's another year with another great recruiting class, get's fired, and a competent coach comes in and uses their underutilized talent to bring them back to 2007 before their meltdown.

USF shutting down football program
4/1/2015 - USF Bulls

ESPN.com news service
The
university announced the decision Tuesday, minutes after president Judy Genshaft met with Bulls players and coaches, while several hundred USF
students and fans gathered outside for the third straight day in efforts
to support the program. USF made the decision after a campus-wide study
conducted by a consulting firm over the past year.
"The fiscal
realities we face -- both from an operating and a capital investment
standpoint -- are starker than ever and demand that we take decisive
action for the greater good of the athletic department and USF," Genshaft
said in a statement released by the university. "As we look at the
evolving landscape of NCAA football, we see expenses only continuing to
increase. When considering a model that best protects the financial
future and prominence of the athletic department, football is simply not
sustainable."
USF
football recruits are left looking for answers after the university
announced Wednesday it is shutting down its football program, writes
Jeremy Crabtree.
USF said in a release that it
subsidizes $20 million of the athletic department's operating budget of
some $30 million annually, and said both those numbers rank fifth in the American Athletic Conference. The university said the difference over the next five
years would be an extra $49 million with football, including a projected
$22 million needed for football facilities and upgrades.
USF is the second major college football program since UAB in 2014 to shut down. Players
cried and hugged after leaving the meeting. An emotional coach Willie Taggart, who just completed his second Spring game, briefly
addressed supporters, saying players, families and coaches were all
hurting and added, "I better get that damn 800,000 dollar buy out that Genshaft promised me."

Information from ESPN.com college reporter Vaughn McClure and The Associated Press is included in this report.

I've Already Given Up On The 2015 USF Football Season

By @USFCollin on Apr 3, 2015, 11:45a

Will USF be even anemically better at football this year? What can you point to and think yes?

The Spring Game was just another indication of the impending doom.
Might wanna put that guy on suicide watch. Dang... lol
