An Italian bus driver of Senegalese descent was arrested on Wednesday after hijacking his own vehicle and setting it on fire, allegedly threatening to kill more than 50 children on board whose hands he had bound.
“No one will survive,” he said, according to police.
“He shouted 'Stop the deaths at sea, I'll carry out a massacre',” said Marco Palmieri, a police spokesman.

Because in the grand scheme of things it’s not important. Nobody died. An African guy went crazy in what is essentially third world Europe protesting something that is unclear. I assume he’s mad at migrant people dieing at sea but Senegal is in west Africa so it’s not really his community.

I’m not really surprised this didn’t make American news.

I haven't read the linked story but I'm guessing it must be about some crazy immigrant or a radical leftwing nutjob since you're tooting your horn about it.

Synopsis:

Bus driver in Italy of Senegalese descent and became an Italian citizen in 2004. Had a criminal record for sexual abuse and battery. Somehow he was a bus driver driving middle school children (52 of them in the bus) to an event.

How a bus driver could have a criminal record with sexual abuse on it and be around kids is beyond me...

Decided to threaten the kids with a knife and called police to say he was going to set the kids on fire. Police set up a road block. Bus hit the road block and while negotiating with police, driver set the bus on fire. Police managed to get the kids out through the windows with minimal injures.
