Jamal Smith commits

Love it, just keep reeling in the SoFlo kids. I played high school football in West Palm Beach County and coached in Coconut Creek FL, best athletes in the state/maybe the whole country.

I want to know who is the one actually snagging the kids?

Love his motor and strength! We had ZERO pass rush last year, and really, the year before that. The ages of having a sick DL seems like ages ago. Bruce, Terrell, to name a few come to mind. We need this. A pass rush changes everything for the entire defense.

Great grab! I'm loving the South Florida love!

For everyone's info-He "committed" on twitter yesterday before actually receiving an offer. He did receive an offer a few hours later once UCF found out about his "commitment." So it won't show up under the list until Frost approves/end of recruiting dead period maybe. He seems to be a solid get-It was just very strange timing and I wouldn't call it official yet.

If we can now have 3 star recruits from South FL committing to UCF before an offer is even made Frost really has turned this ship around!

He already has an official visit scheduled

Looks like Richt is losing his class. Another de-commit. What's going on down there?

Lol splitting hairs on this one... We went to his house and sat down with his family to talk about him committing... Im pretty sure we were going to offer him considering we are offering jucos with lesser talent..

Go look at Jamal's film and look at his first step, and explosiveness at the line. His anticipation of the ball snap is very commendable and his natural instinct is to attack which is something you cannot coach.

Sorry not trying to split hairs-just trying to be accurate with what information we know. Here's an update per 247 sports

"Despite his announcement last night, Jamal Smith has not committed to Scott Frost and the Knights. Smith, however, will be taking a visit to UCF on January 15th and if the visit goes well, it's likely that he commits then. He's obviously high on the Knights."

I see absolutely no reason why he would not officially commit then (and UCF officially honor his commitment). It was just that the timing of his announcement had been out of left field.

We should go after his teammate too (the cornerback), he's committed to FAU and has offers from wvu and usf. I wonder if he just wants to stay local

He could be a situation where he really doesn't want to go out of State to Kentucky, etc. Good for UCF even if it's not official

I understand and that is a great point, touche. Where are the LB's and a QB? LOL
