Would be one of my first hires (as a positional coach or grad assistant) if I was Frost. Godfrey could help us recruit the south Florida area having graduated from Miami Central. He really put UCF first and moved from QB to WR during his time at UCF. I feel like he could pass on a lot of knowledge about football and life to young kids with similar life experiences. He is still interested in the program; I saw him at the Homecoming game this year. He just seemed like a good dude that still cares about the program.

Totally agree! why not. He wants to help in any way and he could help in recruiting especially in the south.
Does Godfrey WANT to coach? He has zero experience, so he'd have to be a grad assistant (meaning, enrolled in grad school). And, there are many other ways to recruit the S. FLA area. And while I love Jeff, the style of play alone will get recruits. I don't think we have to use a spot on a totally inexperienced coach/assistant/recruiter.
Yea he's fully expressed it a lot on Twitter that he wants to coach here. I think it would be a smart move.

You do realize how much our recruiting of South Florida fell off after we lost Kelly? South Florida is a unique area in the fact that relationships matter most down there. The high school coaches and parents have a huge sway on where the kids sign and relationships matter a huge deal down there. That's why a lot of colleges don't even waste time down there because it takes years to make those connections and earn the trust of coaches and parents down there. Godfrey would bring that to us. He is a big part of the community down there and even puts on QB/WR workshops.
Maybe create a new position in charge of recruiting, uniforms, UCF rap parodies/remixes, and DJ music between downs.
Look you're in the running for rookie poster of the year. Don't blow it with going too far with a crazy idea.
1st every college recruits S. FL. Every college.
Accept that and we can move forward. Every year FL produces ~350 D1 football signees. Twice the amount that all the FL FBS schools can sign. Most states don't average 1 D1 recruit per year that includes places like West Virginia who are pretty big into football. So there is tons of talent across the state. The only major benefit I see with S FL is that you can get 3-6 great recruits from one school just like when we did with Jeff, Josh, Jose, and Brandon from Miami Central. That's not enough of a reason to put all your eggs in one basket.
Here is the other thing. George did an amazing job of getting high character SAs. S FL kids are notorious for creating problems. All of our football SAs who have got into trouble in the last 5 years have been from S FL.
Uncle Luke's D has always been tenacious and known throughout south Florida.......
......but yeah hire Jeff as a grad assistant and let him work his way up. I see no downside to this.
If I were Miami, I would have multiple uniform combos with different names on the front of the jerseys every game.

Why you think that? When I watched the interviews, he is a very well spoken, persuasive and intelligent young man. Says all the right things too, like praising GOL and Key on the podcast when he could have done otherwise. So he knows the political side of a public facing role.
In fact, I see him as a MUCH better recruiter than 24K, Rob C or any of the other GA's. GOL got 24K and Travis to give a boost in recruiting that never worked. THose guys are both millionares while JG struggles to feed his kid on a crappy HS coach salary. Who you think gonna be more motivated to do all that grunt work of recruiting?

This reminds me how out of place Richt is down there. Might not work our so well.
Travis didn't even show up after a game to talk to a recruit who sat through our trainwreck vs Furman he's no recruiter. JG would be great for us. I believe he coaches HS in Dade right now but I could be wrong.
