Wow, I was there with my nephew who was touring campus and attending one of the honors college intros and pointed out the new facade on the library and commented how it was named after him and thought about how much he did for UCF at that time. This was late in the afternoon after 4PM, got to think this was more than a coincidence. I truly liked the guy and remember how he always took the time to talk to me and at one time, in the Alumni Center, he listened to me as I lobbiEd for UCF in the BIG12. This is going back at least 10 years. Most of that credit surely goes to him.
 
My only complaint was he championed hard to Aresco to get his alma mater Tulane into the AAC. It doesn’t matter now, but that did help to put a complete end to what was left of the Big East.
