Would be the ultimate UCF holds itself back hireNo FL recruiting ties. No success as a HC. No demonstrable coordinating skill other than special teams. Odd name to pop up other than people know his Dad.
when your fanbase is more worried about your administration screwing up one of the best open G5 jobs hire over going 0-12 #UCFWTH is Brian Polian??????? Oh no.....I hope this doesn't happen :-(
"One source also told the Sentinel one of the key factors the next head coach must possess is a long-term commitment to UCF." Code for old guy no one else will hire away if he's successful.
Why is a long term commitment key for the next head coach according to White? What's so bad about a coach coming for 5 years, winning, and then leaving?
You think UF is upset about the Urban Meyer era?
But he won't leave, like GOL.If you want to hire someone that isn't going to leave just wait until Miami names ________ coach and then hire Butch Davis. He wants to coach, he won't leave, he had the ties to recruit. I'm not saying he's my choice just if UCF's criteria is your HC is not going to leave he is a top option.
Believe this is done deal below rather than any other coach...Bianchi makes the case for hiring Shannon earlier in the year.

NoGood article. I researched if there was any ties between McElwain and Shannon. There was none. I am still on board for Babers. Maybe he can find a defensive coordinator that can compliment his style.
After that Gene Chizi(k) would be my 2nd choice. GOL coached Georgia Tech for 7 years and was hired by Notre Dame. Chizik coached six years and he's a retread? Before you talk about how he only had one good year, he had three of four winning seasons at Auburn...not one. During those 3 winning seasons, he was 15-10 in the SEC. Give him our American schedule and i'm sure he'll be competing on a year to year basis once we purge the hearts, minds and/or remains of the GOL NGEs. Plus he was 5-1 against the big conferences during his winning seasons...and he beat Furman.*
